breast enchancement

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies,

I am considering the procedure, and wondering if anyone has an experience to share? Good, bad, ugly, I want to know it all, because I do not take this type of thing lightly.

The reason I want to do this is for self confidence reasons, I lost a lot of weight, and you would think that would make me feel better about my apperance, but it has only proven to make me more insecure about the size of my chest. I think it would really turn my personality back into what it use to be.

If you have underwent the surgery, i am particulary interested in how it impacted future life changes... some questions:

1. Did you have children after the implants were put in? How did the pregnancy effect the implants? How did breast feeding effect the implants?

2. How many years have you had your implants, would you say they "age well"?

3. Have you found that the implants deture you from doing things you did when you had smaller breasts? (Maybe a particular sport or workout, etc?)

Appreciate the responses!

Haven't had it done, but I had an consultation earlier this year.

All I can say is you have to do your research and look for a good doctor, despite the price.

You have to consider certain things in regards to your body:

can you handle anesthesia, and is your body susceptible to scarring. Most of the time, there is scarring unless you get the procedure done either through your armpits, or through your belly button. Even then, the possibility of scarring is still there.

Also, look into the type of implants you expect to get. In terms of saline vs. silicone, saline is safer. Silicone has been controversial since the earlier 90s since it's been thought to cause cancer. The FDA banned it way back when and only recently approved it again, yet the procedure can only be performed on patients 22 and older. Silicone is said to have a more natural feel to it than saline.

Post op wise, both saline and silicone have a limited 10 year warranty ( ?). I know for a fact, silicone can harden and cause an unnatural look.

I can't answer the first question, but it's unlikely you'll be able to breast-feed.

For two, both saline and silicone have a limited time span. They could either rip or tear, and silicone has been know to harden.

As for three, depending on how fast you recover, you could normally go back to a daily routine in 2 months, and physical exercises in 6.

thanks for your response. I searched another message board as well, and spoke with a woman who had breast implants before her children, and was sucessful in breast feeding both of them, so that was hopeful!

this is not something i am entering into lightly, it is a new phase in my life, i finally realized that plastic surgery is not just about being vain, but for some people it is actually part of a healing process, i am one of those people. there is a lot to consider, but i am sure that the pros will outweigh the cons, and i have plenty of time for reseach, while i am saving my money :)

No, I understand perfectly. Like myself, I always had small breasts that I'm almost completely flat chested. I see getting the procedure as my way of feeling more like a woman as opposed to getting them just to attract attention.

The only reason I haven't gotten them yet is because I want to get silicone ( they cost a bit more than saline) and I'm not yet of age for that procedure. So I'm saving money, and waiting it out until my 22nd birthday.

I see cosmetic surgery as a self improvement process. If there's a necessity for it, and you feel that it will improve your confidence ( breasts augmentation often does) then go for it. Those who stigmatize generally are close minded.

1: There are different methods used by Doctors which can help to reduce scarring.

2: Definitely read up on the procedure, product and the Doctors Credentials.

3: Saline is the safest according to the past five years studies. IF Saline leaks its salt water thru your body.

4: No one can accurately say if you can or cant breastfeed. If you are speaking primarily can an enhanced women breast feed, the implants do not block any of mammary production.

5: Write all your questions down and address them with the Physician and his staff. They are the ones that can give medical advice along with referrals of former patients.

6. Whatever choice you make in this...may you have all the knowledge that makes for an informed decision that is right for you.

I fit bras for a living, and I have seen everything under the sun with regard to breasts.

I've seen some really awesome work. I wear a 30G naturally (I'm tiny with larger breasts. Not overly large- I am totally in proportion. People that didn't know anything about bra fitting might just assume I am a "D" cup.

I've never met a woman that was unhappy with her implants.

You don't want them to look TOO enhanced- stripper breasts look trashy. I've seen numerous implants- and the scarring isn't prominent at all.

I actually saw a woman naked in the changeroom not so long ago and she got her breasts enhanced to my natural cup size. I fit her in a 30G- and saw her puppies naked because she wanted to show me. Her boobs looked just like mine, only more lifted.

Obvious and obnoxious implants are ridiculous looking.

I'm anti-cosmetic surgery of any kind. Breast implants are just band-aids.

This is a good article on breast implants. It discusses both good and bad:

http://www.glamour.com/health-fitness/2006/10/breast-implants

“Many of my first-time patients come in thinking breast augmentation is like a rhinoplasty or liposuction—you do it, it looks good and then you forget about it,” says Foad Nahai, M.D., an Atlanta-based plastic surgeon and author of The Art of Aesthetic Surgery: Principles & Techniques. “One of the first things I tell them is ‘This implant is not permanent and it will inevitably fail and have to be changed.’ It’s remarkable how many people aren’t aware of that.” Did you know that implants don’t last a lifetime? Or that one quarter of all women will have a “redo” surgery within five years? Or that at least 20 different implant sizes now exist? Many women Glamour interviewed were unaware of these facts, even as they were about to go under the knife—so we set out to compile a guide to the truth, with the latest information from surgeons and women’s health experts.

No fake boobies in me.

But, I can see why women would get them though. They look a lot better, and seem much firmer. :bunny::laugh:

My GF (d cup) asked if I wanted her to have augmentation. I told her no, I didn't want anything to interfere with junior"s lunch. She got all fuzzy. I, personally, think that this is mainly an issue with older women. My GF is in her late 20's, and they bounce and roll very attractively, and are mega soft to play with. When you reach your 40's maybe the sag is hard on your self-esteem. As a man, give me saggy, but soft naturals, instead of anti-gravity, rubbery, artificials.

some of us are not blessed with enough breast to ever worry about them sagging ;)

Yeah, I kinda agree with Joe. Mines are soft, bouncy, not real big, very pretty with large nipples. They dont look fake at all.

As a guy, frankly, I really don't care. Ass comes before chest in my book anyway. And more guys are gravitating towards ass first nowadays anyway.

If one has augmented features, I would only have a problem if they're going around calling people who aren't confident in themselves 'insecure', or being condescending towards others. Otherwise, it's whatever really.

If you want the larger chest, just go for it. But (in my view) the big boob craze among us men is slowly becoming outdated. And ass is taking over.

Well I have always had a nice ass too. So im good either way you want to play.

As far as making other people feel insecure...i agree 100%. I wouldnt do that to anyone or have i in the past. Its about what make you feel good as a woman.

Also as a woman with new boobs, I can tell you, that men still love looking at nice cleavage. It starts the interest in some cases and then it goes from there.

Im not bragging ....i really not. Im stating the facts about myself. I hope no one thinks Im being arrogant cause Im not trying to be. Im just saying that I like having boobs as well as a/ss. I felt good about my body BEFORE i got the boobs and I still like it now. I just wanted to enhance my boobs.

Yup, Im a sista girl. I got from my mamma! I have a nice round a/ss. I havent had problems with meeting men BEFORE I got the breast. It was something I wanted to do for me, not for men attraction. I am attractive already. As I got older, my breast dont sit up like the use to so I wanted them to be back up. Plus, its just more to play and entertain your man with.

Again, its about the woman and her body and what makes her feel good. Its not always about the opposite sex for some ladies.
