Sadness About Marriage

This is a great point. However I'm really not understanding how a destination wedding is the cheap way to go

And my issue with all this is the first paragraph in the OP's opening post. She mentions being sad over the loss of freedom and no more butterflies, not sadness about the destination wedding.

I don't know, it doesn't sit well with me to be perfectly honest.

It's incredibly naive, to think that getting married cannot possibly bring sadness.

Like another poster said, any big life change will bring different emotions.

I am so happy to be marrying my love. I just feel wistful over the end of a chapter in my life. What is so wrong about that??

Like I said, it just doesn't sit well with me. I can't relate to it one bit. I'm getting married the day after tomorrow  and sadness is the last thing I can imagine feeling. I don't think I'm being naive and I don't think most brides feel sad about getting married, especially in the way you described.

I'm not saying that you don't have a good relationship and I wasn't putting you down, it's just odd to me.

I don't see anything wrong with that. If you were going into it thinking everything will be sunshine and puppies and fairytales, then I'd think there was something wrong. I think I get how you're feeling because at times, yes it makes me sad what I'm giving up to be with my fiancé. I love him to bits and anyone can see that but still, it's pretty hard to be indifferent to your past life. It doesn't mean you're unhappy or you don't love him. If you didn't, you wouldn't be marrying him.

THANK YOU! This is all I was saying. I think it's strange, that people automatically assume the wistful feelings mean I don't want to get married. Nobody is holding a gun to my head. I am excited to be Mr.BlackLovely's wife. In fact, I am so happy about this that it makes me cry sometimes.
