Do You Have Sex While Your Baby is in the Same Room?

I was asked by a friend to ask this on LS...

Do you ever have sex while your baby-aged child happens to be in the same room...? Is it just too weird for you or do you think they would be too young and unaware for it to matter...? Is there a certain cut-off age for the child...?

Great question!

Yep.

But the kiddos were generally in their own room after four or five months or so. Though we WERE probably a bit more subdued than usual.

That would so creep me out. All living things that breath must be removed from the room. Including dogs. The staring... oh, the staring... :lmao:

I've tried having sex with my cat in the room. It wasn't so much her staring that was creeping me out, but the wrestling with my hair, leaping on to the bed only to miss, and sticking her face in ours while SO and I were trying to making out... that kind of killed the moment.

As for babies, nooo, I don't think I am too keen on that idea. Seems very weird to me.

I did once upon a time. :DWe lived in a one bedroom apartment with the oldest. We didn't move into a two bedroom until the baby was 4 months old.

We have. We were in a 2 BR condo and my stepdaughter slept in the other bedroom, the baby slept in our room for his whole first year until we moved. We never did it while he was awake, though, and we did it in the dark and really bit down and stifled the groans. For variety there was always the bathroom, or the living room on nights SD was at her mother's. :lmao: Fortunately when babies do sleep they sleep very soundly.

Once we were able to do it with lights and noise again it felt exciting and new, even in our same old bed.

When they're really new it probably wouldn't be a big deal if they saw anything, the sound and motion wouldn't mean anything and a young baby simply doesn't have that kind of awareness, but an older baby who can understand more...I would be very uncomfortable if an older baby saw anything sexual. There's a turning point at which they begin to notice and perceive differently, an observant parent knows when that point is reached. It's somewhat different developmentally for every child.

My cat bit me on the arm once while we were getting it on. Highly amusing, but after that she soon got shut out the room (the cat that is, not my partner!)

I don't have a baby, but occasionally we'll invite the neighbors' kids over and let them watch.

The way you say that sounds like you even have someone to have sex with to begin with... :p

Yes she did.

The deed wasn't completed as it kinda spoilt the moment---!

When my baby was very young we did but she was out of sight of anything, then she went in her own room. I don't think we have much memory from that young an age but just to be on the safe side I wouldn't have sex in front of a baby.

As regards animals, my cat is used to wandering around the house, and really took a shine to my recent boyfriend, and she wanted to come into the bedroom all the time when we were in there. Miaowed and scratched the bedroom door when we were in bed, rather annoyingly!! This chap and me are not together now, but he was allergic to cats as well unfortunately!! My friend says her dog used to try and jump on the bed when her and her boyfriend were at it. They seem to get a bit jealous or possesive don't they.

Still have the cat. :) She's lovely most of the time. And daughter LOL (grown up now). I am the one getting chucked out while she and her boyfriend want a bit of privacy.:laugh:

If they are asleep, what's the big deal?... but only up to a certain age. I remember my daughter, when she was probably 9 or 10 months old, waking up one time while we were going at it. She never cried, just stood up in her crib and watched until I noticed her. I looked over and we made eye contact, while I had her mother bent over... I felt terrible at the time, but it's funny now. Needless to say, when my son arrived he had his own room already set up.

No, I never did when my son was small. Could be because I didn't want to have sex with his father
