DukeofKirkaldy Posted October 4, 2010 Share Posted October 4, 2010 Hey all. Here's the story. I just started seeing a very nice lady about 6 weeks ago. We really click - get along great, have similar views of the world, our sense of humor matches, kids are all grown, etc. On our first date, we discussed not going too quickly, as we've both had bad experiences with that. Nonetheless, it is very clear that our affection for each other has grown enormously over the past 6 weeks. No, we haven't used the 'L' word. I found out today that I'm being promoted and transferred to another state 8 hours away. This is a dream job - basically the job I've worked my whole career for. I'll be moving in about 60 days. So, the question is....what now? There is a big part of me that wants to say life is short, (late 40's here) and ask her to come with me (she could...she works in the medical profession, and she's insinuated she'd like to make a geographic move) She's not tied to a mortgage and her kids are grown. She could easily do it. Then there's the cautious part. Too soon...too impulsive. Disaster ahead. I really like her, and she really likes me, and we get along great. HELP!!
