how many of you guys have broken up with someone whom you were truly, deeply in love with because you felt you werent right for each other anymore or things were going sour or you were arguing too much and the relationship was becoming unhealthy? does that mean that your need to be apart was stronger than your love? or does it simply mean that sometimes love isnt enough? is it true that love conquers all or is there a point when enough is enough no matter how much you love that person? and for those of you who have been in this situation, did you regret it, missed and wanted to go back to that person, or were you able to move on just fine?

It depends on our definition of what love is.

If love includes shared goals and dreams, unconditional love, intimacy, and desire to be with each other throughout life, then love may conquer most things.

Nonetheless, there are situations that test the most ardent affection between two people.

The problem (I think) is that love is not well defined in our culture...we often confuse other things for love. IMHO, love cannot conquer anything if it is feelings alone.

Sometimes, it merely comes down to a matter of "Never the twain shall meet."

If the structure of the situation keeps lovers apart, for whatever reason, and they are unable to spend the time together that a relationship demands, they will most likely separate even though they still love one another.

Love, unfortunately does not conquer all, nor should it.

No, love is a way of thinking, not an entity.

Mutual lovers conquer all, perhaps, but certainly not fueled soley by a Shakesperean perception of such a powerful emotion.

love doesnt conquer all. sometimes someone can satisfy your heart and physical desires but not your intellectual. it is rare to find someone who captures all three.

:).........and the men who know how to use them.....

Bella,

Seriously, I'm not sure if anyone walks away from a relationship if they are 'really in love' .....unless the person they are in love with....is making them unhappy....or worse, miserable. There IS a time when someone may have to assess a relationship to see if it really has a happy ending. Some don't.

Sometimes the other person can change what it is that caused the relationship to not work. Sometimes they can't.
