Disillusioned
FUN is a loaded word. My fun is not necessarily someone else's fun. To some people, fun is a destination. To others including myself, fun is a journey. Today, I made some new wooden carrying cases for iPads. Sanding and cutting the wooden pieces to size was about a 6 on my fun scale of 1 to 10. Then I went out to Home Depot and found plastic pipe fittings that fit perfectly into the plastic drums I'm using to build composters. That was about a 3 on the fun scale. Tomorrow morning at sunrise, I'm going biking to the beach and back. A 7 on the fun scale. 9 if biking with a gf. Drinking, throwing up = 0 on the fun scale Dancing = negative 2 on the fun scale Watching TV = 2 on the fun scale Going to bars = 1 on the fun scale Eating a candy bar for breakfast = 4 on the fun scale Feigning stupidity and talking about sex = negative 1 on the fun scale Making something out of wood or metal = 8 on the fun scale Meeting a pretty woman in person who says "OMG I read your profile and I can't believe you like so many of the same things as me!" = 9 on the fun scale (hey, I can dream, can't I?) Letting her fall asleep in my arms on my couch = 10 on the fun scale Posting smartass comebacks to the neanderthal who wants to know if I "did it" = 7 on the fun scale

Crusoe
Last group out, all square with a few to play and pressure building. He stripes one 300 down the middle and that pressure crashes down onto you, you eat it up, devour it, absorb it, make it part of you, tuck it away into a secret little place inside yourself, execute the shot and vomit the whole lot back onto him. And that's how it is, constantly passing a poison ball of pressure to each other, with each shot it gets a little bigger, a little harder to swallow, who will choke on it first? Round the corner the 18th awaits, you can hear it's cheers, sense it's anticipation. The pressure is too big to swallow now and it's you that goes to a secret little place inside yourself. Tee off, the crowds swarm in behind you and the cooker turns up the heat. Switch off the mind, nothing else exists. Machine, serene, immortal, cold. More fun than you can shake a shiny metal stick at.

More fun than you can shake a shiny metal stick at. Your writing is intense! Very visual... Fun for me: Painting. Live music. Festivals. Dancing. Playing with my pup. Being liked by people I like. Being hated by people I hate. Driving fast. Scaring passengers by driving fast. Skydiving on occasion. Pissing people off. Pranks. Eating my mother's cooking. Reading. Traveling. Hiking. Tubing. People watching. Swimming. Lounging on a beach with a cocktail during the day. Roasting marshallows on a fire on the beach and snuggling in blankets at night. Bowling. Trying new things... Citizen Erased
Reading is a 10 for me. I think I need air, food, water and books to survive. Every moment with my handsome fiance is a 10. Going to sporting events in Australia are a lot of fun, I love rugby league games both for the game itself and the crowd. I love going to new places, traveling out of the country or even just trying a new restaurant. I get bored with the same old places all the time. I'm a bit weird for my age, I don't enjoy getting wasted, high, clubbing etc. It seems like a fake kind of enjoyment to me.

Well, I only do it as a hobby or on the side if I need some spare cash, so it hasn't got old for me yet, been welding for about 12 yrs now. It just feels awesome to build something useful with your hands. Awesome Username
Wow, some of you are very easily pleased. The only 10 on my fun scale is getting high and partying with friends. Nothing beats it, which I guess is why they call it getting 'high' (and dont BS me that there are 'natural highs' that are just good - if you believe this at all you have not done good blow). Everything else in life is kinda lame. Causing trouble can also be fun, as long as it doesn't come back to bite you in the arse. I'm afraid of getting high because if that's my new 10, which it probably would be, I'd probably not want to do anything else on my 10 list!

If you get high enough, you can see the exact same thing without needing a microwave or a can of beans.
