That might go on in the minds of some OW, Dexter, though once again you are making huge assumptions and generalisations as you are so inclined to do, but all the man has to do to prevent the whole thing starting is to say, no thanks, I'm married and don't screw around on my wife.. in my experience, the married man, not the OW, is the instigator of most affairs.

I completely agree...but that wasn't what was asked.

and even though the MM is the most to blame, it doesn't absolve an OW that knows he is married of any wrongdoing by helping herself to him.

It's both ridiculous and insulting to portray men as the innocent victims of these man eating OW, as your post seems to infer...

wrong there buddy. If you have spent any time reading my posts, I have said time and time again the MM/MW is the most to blame. so my posts do infer a thing as to what you'd like to believe.

and worlybear, lets look at this another way - she didn't TAKE him, he LEFT your marriage...takes two to tango, remember...

and I'd say worlybear has been saved. When 2 scumbags get together, they are saving 2 other people...........until the fickleness sets in again. then they'll be out hurting other people again.

worlybear...the world is going to open up for you.

Wow! So because she was more lovable and more desirable (she must have been - we're told repeatedly that MMs are always with the ones that they REALLY love, and that anyone else that they may appear to love or care for are really just "side dishes" or "playthings" and are not really worthy of love - or he'd be with them, wouldn't he? ) than his BW and his daughter, she's deserving of heartbreak and tears down the line?

such a pathetic attempt to hurt someone that has already been hurt enough. and you just called the OW more lovable than the guy's own daughter. way to go:rolleyes:

I'm glad I don't live in a world where my own personal unhappiness translates into me wishing horrible things on other people.

no, you live in a world where you dish out horrible things to other people IRL rather than just merely wishing karma would set in.

Nope, I was just demonstrating the ridiculousness of the "logic" that is used here against OWs - that they're just disposable rubbish, because if the MM really did love them, he'd be with them, wouldn't he?

It's stupid in that context, and it's stupid in the context I parodied it. It does NOBODY any favours to trivialise what are clearly complex and highly fraught choices and decisions that are made by people with confused and conflicting loves and loyalties!

I'm sorry if my post was too subtle - I would have thought my point was clear enough to anyone reading, but hey.

no, you live in a world where you dish out horrible things to other people IRL rather than just merely wishing karma would set in.

I'm not one for idle wishing. I am the master of my own destiny - if I want something, I do something about it.

OK, enough people are getting off the topic of this thread that I feel justified in closing it. I hope the OP has gained the insight that was sought. Thank all of you for participating.
