sartrelazyeye
I am a 18 year old girl currently taking three medications: birth control, cymbalta, and methotrexate. I normally have pretty low blood pressure (around 107-110 systolic and 50-65 diastolic). I am 5'3" and 105 pounds (if that has anything to do with it, idk. When I went to the rheumatologist (I have arthritis and fibromyalgia), my blood pressure (which they checked 4 times...twice manually and twice with the digital machine) was about 136 systolic and 98 diastolic. Could the Cymbalta cause the jump in blood pressure? It's my newest med, and, until today, I haven't had my BP checked while taking it. I know birth control can cause a spike in BP, but I've been taking it for almost a year and have had my blood pressure checked while on it. Anyway, I'm supposed to monitor this for a while...call my psych (which my mom has done) to find out about the cymbalta (but he hasn't called back) and, if this continues, I will go to a nephrologist. LisaLee
Cymbalta for sure increases blood pressure. I have several clients who take it, and they have to monitor their BP before and after taking the med. Edited October 23, 2010 by LisaLee
