SpiritualSeeker
Is my friend using? Signs of concern: Changes in behavior (abusive, argumentative, chatting for absolutely no reason about nothing, making up excuses for needing more money-saying the money is for 'loans' which he already paid etc., blaming me and verbal battering, etc.); previously non-existent dripping nose, first just on the right side, now on both, and neglect of personal hygiene. Asking someone you care about if they are using will get a person nowhere. This is a nightmare. Thank heavens for a forum such as this. Any input would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Pyro
those bahaviors could be alot of things, but combined with the dripping nose I'd say that its more than likely due to cocaine. Has your friend lost weight?

Sounds more like meth to me, and more like it's being smoked...the dripping nose has me baffled...he could be doing both (meaning smoking and snorting).
Feelin Frisky
It does fit the profile for drugs. It could be coke, meth or other things. I'm sorry but there's nothing to suggest that I can think of to address this without predictable confrontation and denial. Perhaps you should consider getting out of the realtionship and at least put that pressure on the guy to get it through h head that he's not fooling anyone anymore except himself. pureinheart
You know what it could prescription drugs also, a coctail of them. Vicodin will cause like a speed effect.
Green
Unless your friend is rich or asking to borrow very large ammounts of money then Cocaine probably isn't being used. Your friend might doing crack though.
shadowofman
I use cocaine. Changes in behavior Sure. abusive If you tend to be abusive, coke could amplify this. argumentative Sure. chatting for absolutely no reason about nothing Sure. making up excuses for needing more money-saying the money is for 'loans' which he already paid etc. The addiction can certainly run away with some people. previously non-existent dripping nose, first just on the right side, now on both it is cold season. and neglect of personal hygiene I love a shower and a tooth brushing on coke. I know nothing of Meth. That's a bad bad drug.

Kate_08
my bf is in a frat and smokes weed multiple times a day. i always ask him if he has tried other drugs and he says no. finally i found out he was lieing and he admits to trying coke two times, but im not sure if i can believe that. He never wants to hangout until night or on the weekends at night but i always thought it was because he was busy smoking weed with his frat buddies. now i am not sure if he is doing coke instead.. when he comes over he can usually never fall asleep, he usually has insomnia. He seems to not care about anything but getting high. sometimes he wont shower for a few days. He is never sniffing or acting overly hyper but im not sure if thats because he doesnt want me to know, or because he smoked weed and is just out of it. He is always choosing drugs over me and i bearly ever see him. He ditches our plans alot and has a very bad memory sometimes doesnt even remember things that happened 3-4 weeks before. Not sure what he is on, or what kind of drugs are around in his frat house! all i know is he did try it twice, but would i know if he did it more then that?
rakodako
do u live with this person? i lived with a coke head for years this is what I saw... broken pen pieces... they use the hollowed platic part to snort strainer to break up the coke spoons are missing - if they cook it for freebase you will see a spoon with a black bottom where they lit it little baggies empty are they a smoker all of a sudden? coke makes you want to smoke ciggarettes new friends all of a sudden who are shady? -new people they use with any comedown pills like valium or zanax preoccupation with sex - it is al aphrodesiac in men craxy, paranoid, errratic behavior...
