At the time I met her I was in a player phase and had no desire whatsoever to marry again. I had been through a horrible first marriage and I felt like I had escaped from prison after my divorce. I had a share of sex buddies and at first my wife was just another woman to get into bed. She was hot and I wanted to have sex with her but she was not impressed with me at all at first. I fed her the same player lines that had other women eating out of my hand and she saw right through it. It was only when she actually got to know my on a personal level that things blossomed. She got to know the real me. What impressed me so much was that the same bs lines that usually get another woman wrapped around a man's finger completely turned her off. She valued much different things and she saw the nice guy that does lurk inside of me she was impressed. The fact that she approaches relationships like this is part of what makes this marriage work. Of course she has a heart but she let's her head lead and actually can appreciate love and sincerity in a man. She truly can't understand how any woman would get involved with a married man and then get angry when he ends up hurting her. In her words it is like sticking your hand in a pirahna tank and getting mad when they bite you. It was such a breathe of fresh air and it completely changed my mind on marriage. I can see all the things about my husband that drive me nuts or even put me off, but it doesn't overshadow the basically good, kind, loving man he is, and those innate qualities are what have made him a keeper for two decades ... epiphanies are wonderful, aren't they?
