hurtingandconfused
I have worked out for the past 2 months. I am 5'6 and weighed 165 lbs. I now weigh 145 lbs (I gained 5 lbs due to lifting weights.) I have been on the high protein low carbohydrate diet. I try to consume 120-130 grams of protein daily. And of course I stay away from carbs. When I stand or lay down, my stomach is flat. But when I sit down on my computer you/I am/are able to see the rest of the fat that I have not been able to lose. How do I lose that last part of the gut? Do I have to run more(distance)? Or do I have to work out longer (twice a day?) I am trying to get a sixpac...I can see the line/crease that goes vertically but I am unable to see the "pacs" just yet. Or the last option would be...maintain the same workout..it just takes longer?? I do about 450 crunches daily(i work out on different parts of the stomach..sides..lowerpart..top part ect..) faux
Being able to see your abdominal muscles depends on your body fat. I personally have two inches I am working off of my stomach. I'm doing this by walking. Weight lifting and crunches isn't going to help any. You could do thousands of crunches a day if you were able to and it would make no difference visibly to your abdominal area. You have to get rid of that last bit of fat. It sounds as though you are just fine however. I still have an inch visible when I am standing or laying down. Sitting is about two inches. A few years ago when I was much thinner, sitting down my stomach always appeared a little larger, and I did have a “six pack” then. I can't say if walking is providing the added cardio I need to get rid of the extra bit of fat as I just recently started. If anyone has a response to this I would also appreciate hearing the answer. corythosaurus
For a male, your Body Fat % has to get down to 10% or lower. Go get checked at a fitness center to find out where you are. Increase your cardio activity. Try High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). Go here to read about HIIT: http://www.youronlinefitness.com/Fitness_Articles/articles/January_2003_articles/hiit_and_other_interval_training.htm
