mauler2
Spat on a gay guy in photography class… …because he dissed Christianity and Jesus. He said the Bible is prejudice and then he attacked Jesus and Christians because of that personified prejudice. I knew that Jesus would never be against gays, but he called Jesus something pretty bad, and I just stood up, came round his desk and spat in his face without a word. The class went silent and I was sent out. I didn’t get into trouble, I told the teacher how offended I was, but now everyone thinks I’m homophobic (which isn’t true) and now I’m getting dirty looks. Should I redeem myself or let it waver and act the a**h***? I didn’t want to spit on him, you know. But wasn't it my duty to put him in his place due to my religion?
Darkangelism
That was uncalled for you do ot spit on people because they offend you.
Kat
Wow where I am fron you will get arrested for spitting in someones face. You had no right to do that I don't care what they said. Pity you couldn't express your anger with words instead of resorting to cave man like tactics. Apologise to ALL involved
NEONINK
Organized religion has been used to hurt people ever since they were organized. Gays have been around since the first recorded history. And that's older than even the Jewish/Christian faiths. But still they sit behind their pulpits and spew hatred of gays. Jesus didn't say anything about it, but that doesn't stop many Christian churches from pointing out the few verses that are there. They also overlook eating pork and shellfish, divorce, child abuse, spousal abuse, pre-marital sex and so on. Evidently those are forgiven in the eyes of the Christian right. But not loving someone of the same gender. This man has obviously been hurt by someone, bashed by the Bible. Probably his own parents. Show him how a Christian really and truly should live. Jesus was quite a liberal by the way. What would Jesus Do?
Vivid_29
Would you like it if I spat in your face, because of what you believe in? Who the hell are you to think it's your duty, to put someone in their place, because he voiced his opinion and it didn't sit too well with you? You are lucky he didn't bust your a$$ for that little stunt. ~V
UCFKevin
What a ridiculously pr!ckish thing to do. You're lucky he didn't pummel you. If this is what you do when people disagree with you or have different opinions, you're going to go through your life with a LOT of black eyes. I know I'd certainly give you one. befuddled11
Here in North America, you can be charged with criminal assault for spitting on someone. We all have the right to stand up for our religious beliefs, but doing so in an abusive, assaultive manner totally defeats the point you're trying to make. Jesus taught love and forgiveness, and turning the other cheek (hate to sound all preachy). You'd have been better off containing your outrage and just looking him straight in the eye and reminding him that Jesus loves him. That would have had more impact, I'm sure. I'm not sure, also, why you made mention of the fact that he's gay. You really should consider apologizing to him. How would you feel if he or someone spit in your face, because you bashed their beliefs? Apologize and then do some hard thinking on what the best way to handle this kind of situation is, for future reference. And remember, God would never want you (or anyone) to assault or degrade or dehumanize someone, all in his name.
Darkangelism
I was thinking about this more today, if somebody pat in my face I would have kicked the living sh*t out of him. But i cant shake the feeling that you are just a troll.
dyermaker
Did Jesus defend himself when he was ridiculed? Seriously, apologize, written and verbally.
amerikajin
This is nothing short of despicable! What a low-class, disgusting display of intolerance of someone else's OPINIONS! As for whether or not you're a true homophobe, I don't know, so I can't address that. It doesn't matter. To spit on someone shows an utter contempt for another person's dignity. >>>…because he dissed Christianity and Jesus. He said the Bible is prejudice and then he attacked Jesus and Christians because of that personified prejudice.<<< He probably should not have attacked all Christians, but had you given him an opportunity to talk to you after class, he might have clarified his opinions further. Instead, you just spat. >>> I knew that Jesus would never be against gays, but he called Jesus something pretty bad, and I just stood up, came round his desk and spat in his face without a word.<<< Again, he should have shown more sensitivity to others in the class who might be of devout faith. I can understand - if he did in fact say nasty things about Christians and Jesus - how that might inflame passions, but still, that doesn't give you the right to assault someone. And that's what you've done: you have assaulted another person physically. That's actually a legal crime in most jurisdictions. >>>The class went silent and I was sent out. I didn’t get into trouble, I told the teacher how offended I was, but now everyone thinks I’m homophobic (which isn’t true) and now I’m getting dirty looks.<<< When you spit on people, you do tend to get dirty looks. >>>Should I redeem myself or let it waver and act the a**h***? I didn’t want to spit on him, you know. But wasn't it my duty to put him in his place due to my religion?<<< If anything, it was duty to let him know that you were offended by his remarks and to stand up for those who share your opinions. It was your duty to inform him that not all Christians are bigots and that he, ironically, was the very thing he was condemning (being a bigot toward Christians). It was NOT your duty to spit on someone. You should immediately and unconditionally apologize to him for spitting on him. After you have done that, you could, in time, approach him and let him know your true feelings and why you acted the way you did. And just as the others have said, this should be a warning to you: the next person you spit on might not turn the other cheek.

ldybg51
I just cant help it... Jesus didn't say anything about it, but that doesn't stop many Christian churches from pointing out the few verses that are there. Read bible. I do not judge anyone. It is not our place God says. And I certainly do not Judge gays. I have gay friends. Love the sinner and hate the sin kind of thing. But I just had to point this out. Leviticus 18 and 20 speak of this clearly. Just to name a few. No it is not the new testament so when God speaks it is not in red as in the new testament when Jesus spoke. But anyway, No you should not have spit. That is just rude. Jesus would not have spit. You have to respond in a way that shows how a loving christian would respond. Not show him that his image is correct. Throwing fuel on his fire.

dyermaker
Most of the OT isn't moral handbooks, but rather laws indicitave of the time. Anyone who would think that the laws of Leviticus apply to a soveirgn 21st century nation is quite insane.
