FolderWife
WWJD? They spat on him, they made fun of him, they crusified him...and he was completely innocent. Jesus would not want you to mistreat sinners. He came to the world to save the lost, not condem them. That gay guy is going to hell, because he is a sinner. How DARE he say those things about Christ. But it isn't your place to defend Jesus to him. You could've used scripture to tell that guy that Jesus is great, but it wouldn't have done any good. The bible says not to bother trying to witness to people who are that thick headed. "Vengence is mine, saith the lord". Let God take care of it. As for what to do now....I don't know. You shouldn't have attacked that guy like that. Even though you were just standing up for your beliefs, you shouldn't have done that. So I guess apologize. Don't do an excuse apology, like, "I'm sorry I spat on you, but I was mad about what you said about Jesus," Just tell him, "I'm sorry I spat on you. I shouldn't have done that." And let it go. The bible says to pray for those that dispitefully use you. The way he was talking about Jesus, you should've prayed for him....not spat on him.

An attitude MOST undeserving of anyone's respect I don't blame you for this comment.........just wanted to say, it's a shame you feel that way......
loveregardless
this boy and a group of people that would harbor such thought processes are who need to be prayed for! The gay boy does not need to be prayed for(well we all need to be prayed for, but anyway)simply because he disagrees with the Christian church...those who do not see his divinity the same as theirs are the ones who need true salvation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are all divine, we are all made in the image of goodness, of love, and of light, no man of any religion is any better/worse than another and anyone who thinks otherwise is living life with a blindfold over their eyes and a cage on their heart! Respect is earned, not allocated by proxy. But you seem to think a lack of respect can be engendered through physical pain and intimidation. It's an utterly disgusting mindset. Revolting. loveregardless
we can all learn something from one another...old, young or otherwise...you are both brilliant...everyone is brilliant...except for me...I'm a genius and I know everything. Jk Just trying to lighten things up a bit. Back to the topic at hand... WWJD Jesus would be appalled at the things done in his name, and saddened by the twisting of his teachings into dogma. I know, I asked him, he told me last wednesday.

dyerasaguest
Originally posted by Fayebelle Was that translation Greek, Hebrew, or Aramaic? Just curious - I studied Latin and a lot of the words are similar so I was guessing Greek but I want to be sure. Greek. Originally posted by Moose So Dyer, what are you trying to say here? That the jews wrote these things down in greek? I don't think so. John's Gospel was written in Greek. Originally posted by Moose So you can read ancient dialects huh? I would love to witness that, that would be amasing!!! . Yup. It's not all that amazing. It's not like the Bible is some secret text. Originally posted by Moose How many other ancient languages do you speak? I can't speak any of them. I can read Hebrew, Greek, and some Latin. I'm somewhat out of practice, but John wrote in pretty clear language. These men where Jews, Jews spoke Hebrew. Jews spoke Hebrew in the temple, but conversationally Jesus spoke Aramaic, as did most people in that region/time period. All of Jesus's direct words, including the harsh words you claimed to have translated from Hebrew (a lie) were in Aramaic. John wrote his Gospel in Greek. The Old testament was originally written in Hebrew, here's my proof: The Gospels aren't in the Old Testament. It also says in that link that the New Testament wasn't printed in the Greek language until th 1500's. Then it's totally wrong. Are you sure you're not talking about English? Not amazing at all really- I took 2 yrs of Latin and can get the gist of most things written in languages derived from there (read - all of the Romance Languages) I can speak very little b/c our teacher figured Latin is a dead language and other than Church (where responses are provided) -it doesn't pop up in conversations. Likewise- I can comprehend a lot of Spanish when I hear it b/c of Latin and living in FL- but please don't ask me to speak it. I worked w/ a man who is Jewish and his 6yr old could read in English and Hebrew. It's all about what someone has been taught or has looked to learn. And it is a proven fact that children learn other languages faster than adults. And w/that- I'll back out and leave ya'll to scrap it out amongst yourselves. Just no spitting please

AKA-Tiffy Kranston
Well, here I am in another one of my incarnations. I'm still alive, still following you around the forums, looking for your posts like the puppy dog that I can be, although I'm moving to a new larger and much nicer apartment, and so I won't have all the time in the world to look for your insightul and amusing little posts, but for today I guess I do. I hope you are doing well and staying out of trouble, I am staying out of trouble, now if only I could do well! It'll happen.
