I have always tried to do what's right, but I learned I was doing it for the wrong reason, I was looking for something out of it in return..... As you know I started taking classes at my local church (Safe People by Henry Cloud or John Townsend, I don't remember, check out the book) and I started to learn what "I" was doing wrong & once I realized that my friends started to change, I started to hang out with new people that I could trust. I think someone already said it, but we need to be around safe people in order to give because we want to & they respect that. There will always be those that will take & never appreciate it or those that take advantage of good people, but hopefully with time we can learn who those people are before they can hurt us. You have helped so many people on this board & even after there storm or divorce you keep sharing. Just like a football player or any "good" person. They can be the best at what they do yet they do one wrong thing & that is all you hear about....Examples, Pete Rose, Tiger Woods, the list can go on.......For me in my marriage I can remember doing so many good things, yet I would do one bad thing & that is what the former wife would hold on too.
