WWDDFD
I'd like opinions of people here. I'm going to go on a second date with a girl sometime next week, and I want to give her a gift. She told me a few months ago on a really offhand remark (I don't think she'll even remember telling me) that she loves Dave Mathews Band and Evanescence, so I wanted to get her something related to that. Since they aren't comming around for concerts anytime soon, and I can safely guess that she's got all of their CD's, I wanted to get her something thoughtful and meaningful; I've searched around, and managed to find a bunch of really rare unreleased material from both bands, and I wanted to give that to her. I made up CD designs and cover art for the stuff and burned them onto CD's; they look almost professional (I dabble into graphical design as a hobby sometimes), and I want to give them to her on the next date. Here's the thing; a) is it too early to start giving gifts? b) is it possible this kind of gift would be seen as "cheap"? I don't really want to look cheap about this, since that isn't the point here. Any jerk can go to the store and buy a CD without much thought; I want to show her that will put effort and thought into her and everything she likes c) is it creepy in any way that I would remember a little detail about her life like this? d) should I wrap them, or just give them to her right out, as in "oh this isn't really much"? Thanks!
jenny
no - cool, thoughtful, excellent, casual, second date gift. i'd love it; and anyone who isolate the rare and the unreleased is a better creature than most. do NOT wrap them - that would be weird and too 'performative'. i will not get all het up about this likely being the girl who did you so wrong last time. i just wish you better luck with her this time

She promised me she'd never treat me like that again, if that counts for anything.
