Should I give in and apologize or would that make me weak?

Recommended Posts

I was just kind of mean to a friend of mine because we havent talked much lately and it seems like we're fading. Im not a sensitive person, so I didnt tell him this of course.

Instead, I told him, after he told me that he had to go AGAIN, that he annoyed me and I hated him (I usually say I hate everybody). He of course hung up on me and I have yet to call him back.

He has had to apologize to me many times over lesser things. I was wondering if maybe I should apologize or just wait for him to get over it and call.

I think that would make me seem weak though cause hes always been the one that called me back after a fight even if it was my fault.

What should I do?

apologize when you are wrong. this is the strongest thing that any person can do in his or her daily life.

"look, i need to talk to you. i have thought about my words and i think i was incorrect and hasty. no excuses: i was wrong and i'm sorry. your friendship means a lot to me; i'd like to work on it; and it is important i am accountable for my actions. let me take you to lunch on friday; we need to spend some time together if we are going to remain good friends."

straight-up and elegant, luv. it's very cool of you to be able to do this; most people cannot. go for it if you want to be a good person, and keep a good friend.

I don't think anyone likes to apologize, even when we're wrong. It makes me feel all funny inside. But sometimes, you have to swallow your pride and do what's right.
