Citizen Erased
That might just be the typical anti- anything foreign attitude some Americans sadly have. I may come across some stupid crap but not nearly as much as if I was from the Philippines or something. I can see where the OP is coming from, the "mail order bride" jokes and whatnot. I don't think it's jealousy, it's ignorance more than anything. I personally think in this case it's not that though, really she's kind of a bitch but she's a friend of Pyro's so I'll let her prove herself to be otherwise.
Woggle
It might be jealousy and some bitter women really seem to get angry when they see happy relationships. They assume that he somehow does not deserve it. My wife gets called a stepford wife sometimes. With some of them if a woman does not fit acceptable feminist criteria there is something wrong with her.
Mad Max
American Women: Threatened by Foreign Women? Normally I'd say no, but after reading this thread and the other thread about foreign women, I'm starting to have second thoughts.
Star Gazer
American women being threatened by foreign women? This is honestly news to me.
Citizen Erased
I don't think they're threatened by sex dolls.
Citizen Erased
Of course they are. I think it's fairly safe to say most of us would really only be turned off that a guy was that desperate, not terribly concerned with feelings of jealousy.
theBrokenMuse
If dolls were cheap, and if every guy had one, then women would be more threatened then they are now. The way I see it, a doll is no different than a pocket p***y with a face. Are men threatened by the fact that women have toys? I've never met one yet who was. Anyone who is threatened by an objective is a bit daft (unless that object happens to be the focal point of a serious obsession by a significant other in which case it can be understandable). sally4sara
On a side note is that what song American Woman is about? That was back in the 60s and I didn't think this sentiment was too big back then That song wasn't so much a song against American women as it was an anti war song about the country the american woman comes from "I don't need your war machines; I don't need your ghetto scenes" Do you really think women in this country run around with "war machines" or that we orchestrate the "ghetto" problems? It was an anti Americna politics song written by a British band. Listen to all the words and not just the ones you think are specifically about women.
dispatch3d
Why don't you make a thread about all the cool things foreign women do that you really like. Leave american women out of it. That's the bashing part that's causing the bashing. Stop acting so surprised your threads get so much hate... Comparisons like this are never going to work in your favour. Person x is better than person y. Ahh person y is probably going to tell you off ;-)
Woggle
I don't know about those other things but there are a good number of women who are threatened by porn. This board if proof of that. For as much as they scream about how they don't need men there are women who really do fear being replaced themselves. Of course a secure woman knows that she offers something priceless so she is not threatened.
Minnie09
I don't know one single American woman who feels threatened by foreign women, as far as the dating scene is concerned. Why would anybody feel threatened? Falling in love can happen to anybody anywhere, and as long as the intercultural couple is in sync, there's nothing wrong with that. However, some time ago a guy I've known for a while showed me a website displaying women from one particular foreign country who are willing to get married to a US citizen, and the way those girls presented themselves in those pictures freaked me out. To me, it clearly indicated that that was nothing but a business.... If a man chooses to go that route, he should be aware of that. I don't know if they all are, though. Anyways, that friend of mine and I had a discussion later on, and his POV was that I can't criticize something that we do within the US all the time...online dating. To me it felt different. It's like placing an order and has nothing to do with liking somebody, or falling for somebody. It's just weird. But if both parties see what it really is - a business - and then agree to go for it, why not? I guess then it's ok, right?
112233
Some women have proposed banning sex dolls. That means they're threatened by them. Anyway, high quality sex dolls are expensive and (presumably) not very widely used right now. If dolls were cheap, and if every guy had one, then women would be more threatened then they are now. Well a few years from now, maybe 15 or so, and there will be fairly realistic robo-maids available and they will only improve with time. I wonder what women will think of that. I'll probably be married, no need to make it personal. A lot of single guys would be less inclined to ever get married or live in if they had f*ckable housekeeper bot or two though. Probably just 'date' once in a while.

Woggle
I do remember when the Lenny Kravitz version came out and some bitter guys took it on as an anthem.
You'reasian
I don't care about men's preferences. Do they like foreign? That's fine. What annoys me is how so many American males think something is wrong with American women. It's like this. A is an American man. He is in love with B, an American woman. But A was always shy and he was afraid of being rejected. He never told his feelings for B so B one day met a good looking man(or whatever A is against at the time) and began to date him. A turned bitter, decided all American women are evil(because we can't read the man's mind) and decided to from now on talk bad about American women and, to piss off American women(not sure how he does this), A gets himself a foreign woman. I've honestly never met an American man bitter enough to say such awful things about American women. The men I met, the men I was raised with, and the men I admire are all capable of applying occasion and individualism instead of saying: "Sally sue hurt me, that means every American woman is bad to the bone." Songs like "American woman stay away from me" don't help raise future men to respect women. You've got some good insight into this. I think your A and B example is too narrow and even falsely suggests that the reason why American guys like foreign women is because they are lacking in confidence, communication, charisma etc. As a guy who talks to and knows men who married foreign women, I find that they are attracted to these women because they are family oriented, they understand reciprocation, they are balanced good partners overall. I take it you were in downtown? Wide range of women there. Very diverse city, similar to New York. Good Charlotte is just awful. I can't past that fact to listen to their lyrics. I don't listen to them much either, but they're much better than many bands/artists today. Best rock band in the last 10 years = Simple Plan.
