Honorable_Venerable Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Hi, can anyone suggest something for breakfast that keeps hunger under reasonable control for a decent length of time, but doesn't a) taste like cardboard and b) look like something you feed to cattle (or worse still, look like something you fed to cattle the day before:sick:!)
JustJoe Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Vegemite on toast. Mmm.Good God, NO!!!! How about a nice toasted bagel with lox, onions and cream cheese, yummmmmm!!
Citizen Erased Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Good God, NO!!!! How about a nice toasted bagel with lox, onions and cream cheese, yummmmmm!! With a nice side of heart attack.
Pyro Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 how about cheese on top of cheese with extra cheese on the side? Topped off in butter.
JustJoe Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 With a nice side of heart attack. That's why you have the onions, to keep it healthy;) IF I were going to eat vegemite, I would spread it on freshly baked bread........then throw it away and have bacon and eggs.

JustJoe Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 HV, a lot depends on if your a drinker or not. In Texas , we usually have menudo and warm corn tortillas.
Pyro Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Pyro, did you ever have "cheese curds ", from the U.P.? Nasty!! good thing I never have then.
SilentVoice Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Omg I make my idea of protein pancakes. Corn meal, mashed bannana , cottage cheese , milk , oatmeal -- I make it in a pan like pancakes... you can add an egg, I just didnt have any when I made it .
Cee Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Black coffee is my breakfast of choice, but... If I want a meal that doesn't make me ravenous 2 hours later, I go for protein. Like an omelet. I chop up vegetables in it for fiber and nutrition. A 2 egg omelet with a ton of vegetables is huge- the size of a dinner plate and keeps me satisfied. Two slices of turkey bacon is a good addition to the meal. I stay away from grains and avoid bagels, toast, etc. Also I avoid fruit too. I'm carb sensitive and get crazy cravings if I have things too high on the glycemic index.
dreamingoftigers Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Pyro, did you ever have "cheese curds ", from the U.P.? Nasty!! I <3 the UP
dreamingoftigers Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I do 6 oz of Plain, unsweetened yougurt, 4 oz of berries (low on glycemic index, but still sweet) and 1 oz of rolled oats. Can keep me feeling satisfied until almost dinner. Yummy too, not too sweet.
USCGAviator Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I would eat a big cheese omlet, bacon, hash browns or corn beef. Then a yogurt some v8 and a grapefruit. I go by the rule..eat like a king for breakfast, prince for lunch, and peasant for dinner. I eat that way and now I'm back to sexy haha
carhill Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Bangers.... can't eat 'em anymore ... Gravlax and capers Bean, chile and rice burrito Potatoes O'brien Blueberry waffles topped with fruit compote and whipped cream Eggs Benedict - this was a favorite of my exW Buttermilk biscuits and pork sausage gravy
tinktronik Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I really like a small cup of oatmeal or rice pudding with raisins.

GorillaTheater Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Chorizo and egg tacos. Or were you interested in, you know, healthy stuff?
allina Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I'm a breakfast eater. I can't get through my day without a decent sized breakfast. During the weekdays I have a whole wheat english muffin with low fat cream cheese, sprouts and tomatoes, a hard boiled egg and a banana or a cup of blueberries.
tman666 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Today's breakfast: 4 whole eggs with about a 1/3 cup diced ham, spinach, and about a 1/3 cup cheese, all scrambled together. 3-4 TB of natural peanut butter mmmmmm
Surrealist Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Black coffee 200 grams oats 50 grams of chocolate whey protein powder Water Apple I use the quick cooking oats and discovered you dont even have to cook the things. I simply let the kettle cool while having coffe and then simply add the warm water (it was previously boiled so there's no germs as it may be with warm water). You can add milk, soy, skim or otherwise but I find that just adds calories. Btw it looks like stuff you'd feed your cows only chocolate flavoured.

I can't handle the oatmeal + whey protein powder combination. It's just too knarly tasting for me. It took me about 4-5 tries on separate occasions for me to solidify my opinion on that. Great nutritional breakdown though, if you can stomach it.
