Things You Are Thankful For

Recommended Posts

With the holiday coming up and the pattern of threads I have seen of late on here has inspired me to start this thread.:)

As always I am thankful for my continued health and for those who have fought and died for our countries freedom.

I am thankful for my lord and savior who has helped lead me through this jungle I call life.

I am thankful for my friends who helped me open up from my bubble and experience the good and the bad of the real world.

I am VERY thankful that through my experiences (which has included heartbreak of some form or another) I have grown and matured and realized that the healthy way of living is to treat people as individuals and not judge them as a group. Lord only knows how unhappy, scared, and misearble I'd be right now.

I am especially thankful for a certain sassy Koala who has come into my life and has helped me realize my destiny in life which is to share my life with her and take care of her through the good times and bad. Love you pumpkin.

Very nice thread pryo. I am thankful for my Lord and Savior too. I'm a little perturbed about being at a staff meeting at 4:am on a sat. morning, but such is life in the military. (You can see how important it is, me being on LS) .

I'm thankful for surviving three tours overseas where many did not, also for my continued good health, (so I can still skydive).

And I especially want to thank you for giving a shout to our people who have fought and died serving our country. I don't think you know how much that means to us, thank you

Not the love ace

As much as a miserable F--cker I am right now, I am thankful for my health, my small family I do have, the fact that I have been making decent financial gains, the clothes that I wear, the fact that I am able to eat above average than most people, the fact that I have fought through many hardships in life and survived some. I am just thankful that I have a functioning home and for even a toilet. I am thankful that I am relatively safe where I am geographically.

Everyday I bitch and moan about life, I take time out to remember that there's people in war-torn nations, countries facing genocide, famine, families and friends and their lively hood being taken away for reasons that they don't deserve. I think about the kids who are being killed or who have become orphans due to tragic events in those nations (I'm sure you can think of a handful).

I know about 3 people who have met their demise way too short in the Drug War in Mexico and makes me appreciate what I have in life.

Doesn't mean I'll stop being miserable but at least I can just be thankful that things in my life can improve and I get inspired by these peoplew ho survive such harsh lives.

We Canadians had our thankfulness much earlier but there's no reason not to do this multiple times a year so we ensure we don't take our loved ones and lives for granted.

I'm thankful for all the people who are close to me. Without their love and the love I have to give them, my life would be empty.

I am thankful for the love and support of my family, especially my mom who has been the one person to consistently pick me up out of the muck and mire of life.

I am thankful for my health, which has had its ups and downs this year more than ever, especially with my sudden bad reaction to my much beloved sour cream :(

I am thankful that I have a job when others don't, and am completing my education for now.

I am thankful for my SO, who is the most amazing and unique person I know. He has supported me through all my fits, insecurities, and indecisiveness. I would have given up on me a long time ago, but he is the only person in my life (other than my mom) who has been a constant.

And most of all I am thankful for my life and for whoever is watching over me in the grand scheme of things.

I'm thankful for people with enough stature to reach out to people and help them with the stranger aspects of life, when they see those people having a problem.

I work for a home health care agency that caters to those with low income. Last Friday my 72 year old client and another lady (who is about 86) were sitting out in the lobby of their apartment. My client said that a black gentleman who was dressed in a very nice suit walked in and approached them.

The man asked my client and the lady if they were residents of the complex. Both replied that they were. He then asked them if they were in need of money. They laughed and my client said "Well, isn't everybody?" At that point the man gave them both $20 and then walked straight out the door without another word.

By the time I arrived all the neighbors had heard about it and were buzzing. Several approached me and said "You are not going to believe what happened to Robert today!" Some of the more religious people swore the man was an angel because of how quickly he had come and gone.

My client is a real sweet guy, and the lady is the oldest woman at the complex and she is a dear! Absolute darling. I thought it was all very neat for a complete stranger to walk in and give two needy people money, but I think he chose the two most deserving people in the complex. :)

Oh, God only if I were rich with millions.

I'd love doing things like that guy did for your residents. People that are like two days from losing their home or the young daughter with no parents trying to survive and take care of siblings. That would be awesome to just help out like that and give them what they need to get over the BS.

If I were a millionair actor, I wouldn't buy 40,000 dollar wrist watches or buy 1 million dollar rings for my wife(Bennifer), I'd take that money and help people that REALLY REALLY would appreciate it. I'd get a better kick and feel lots better doing that than buying 10,000 dollar purses and the like.

Cool story, LisaLee.

specifically? My close circle of friends who have grown to be more family than family actually is. My husband. My big sister and big brother. My nieces and nephews and their babies. My boss for keeping me at a job I love. And God, for making this life the coolest adventure ever

I am thankful for my Lord and Savior.

I am thankful for my friends and family, and the health of my friends and family.

I am thankful for the house I live in, the food in my stomach, the clothes on my back

I am thankful for everyone in the military. They will forever be my heros and I can't imagine what they must go through. They fought for me and my freedom and thank you doesn't even begin to express my gratitude.

I am thankful for my education and my dream job

I am thankful for being able to feel safe. I take that for granted and try to think of those who do not have the luxury of feeling safe whether it be at home, outside, at work, at school etc.

Thanks for this post! I needed it.

Tonight was the sweetest night ever. H. bathed Bump so I could hear the two of them laughing away, water splashing. And afterwards, H snuggled him and read him a story. It was heartbreakingly adorable to watch.

I'm truly, truly thankful for my big and little man. Less than two years ago, I didn't know they existed or would exist. Sometimes life's so good! :bunny::love:

I'm thankful for all the love in my life and that I am able to give and receive love.

I'm thankful for all the gifts and privileges I've received for no reason

And that I still feel so much when confronted with the majesty of this existence, with all its beauty, wonder, pain and flaws.
