What's the male equivalent of a gold-digger?

Recommended Posts

There really isn't any as men aren't really known to go behind a woman's money/status. The woman obviously will be unwilling to become his sugarmommy.

I think the only term would be a player or as you said a gigolo.

A moocher? Usually men who want to go with women with money do so because they cannot support themselves.

There are plenty of male gold diggers. They go after the divorced women who "got the house". They might be younger...in which case my friends call them "hobbies' or they might be divorced themselves having "lost the house" and seeking someone who can benefit them financially...my friends call them "charitable causes".

The difference most seems to be is that women with cash recognize them immediately and completely...and either embrace or reject based on their wants/needs of the moment. On the other hand men are more likely to let their ego take the lead and not recognize ulterior motives .

Oh, and women dont marry hobbies men do.

I was with one of these men once. The only name that really worked for him was confidence (con) artist. He knew exactly how to win my trust and then turn that for financial gain. I admit that I was completely stupid for falling for it.

He's still doing that by the way. Last I heard, he got into a green card marriage scheme. He married a woman from the Ukraine in return for a monthly cash retainer.

I suppose I could've called the cops on him, but I'd rather stay NC and far from him as possible.
