Bubbles
I swear if pornography was not available on-line........half of all men out there would not have the slightest idea on how to operate a computer! Just my opinion. I am so sick of hearing about these men that are completely infactuated with pornography and actually sitting at home....at home!!!!! and viewing all this crap around their so-called loved ones. Let me ask you this.....would a guy actually invite a stripper to his home to perform for him while his wife (or children) were in the other room? NO WAY! So, I just do not understand what men are thinking that they can actually get away with? The stripper in your home and pornography on-line in your home is the same exact thing! Darkangelism
Internet porn has only been around for 15 years guys would find other ways of getting it.
moimeme
There have been films, photos, magazines, strip clubs and other types of porn since photography first existed.
UCFKevin
The stripper in your home and pornography on-line in your home is the same exact thing! Yeaahhhh...gonna have to go with the big NO on that one. Not the same thing whatsoever. Porn you can't tough. It's 2D. Strippers in person are RIGHT there, live, 3-D, can touch. HUUUUUUUGE difference.

Author Bubbles
Nope...sorry kevin. You are NOT allowed to touch strippers. Go to any strip club....read the rules at the door. In a woman's eyes the stripper in the home and some cheap floosey behind a camera are the same exact thing.
moimeme
In a woman's eyes the stripper in the home and some cheap floosey behind a camera are the same exact thing Please don't speak for all women. PLEASE.
Author Bubbles
How's about this.....how 'bout I speak for all the broken women. Would it be alright if I speak for the women who have been humiliated and hurt beyond beleif. How 'bout I speak for all of the women out there who have ended up on Loveshack who post here because they are hurt and looking for support? Would that be alright?
Darkangelism
You should only speak for yourself. At some strip clubs, its look dot touch unless you pay enough.
fredrolin
Originally posted by Bubbles Nope...sorry kevin. You are NOT allowed to touch strippers. Go to any strip club....read the rules at the door. I went to a strip club in Columbus, Ohio and the strippers let the men fondle there breasts and butts. It made them earn larger tips. They also had this routine where they invited guys onstage and had them lay down with a dollar bill on there face. The stripper could pick the bills up off the men's faces with her butt cheeks. Author Bubbles
And my question is this......would that same guy who fondled the women admit to his actions in front of his s/o or to his children? I think not.....he would be too embarassed and ashamed of what he did. You can go ahead and defend yourselves all you want. All I know is this....after almost 3 years of reading posts from these very sad & hurt women, that something has got to stop! The "people" who are inflicting this kind of unfair pain on their s/o (whom they know would NEVER accept pornography) must stop! Pretty soon Internet Pornography is going to be put before the Government and a ruling will have to be made. It will soon be "grounds for divorce" just the same as many people in the past could not control their drinking or a drug problem or a gambling problem and if you go before the judge with the reasons that your s/o has "an addicition" and you can not live with it any-more - you are granted a legal divorce without any questions. What's the difference between all those other addictions and an internet addiction? Why do we, the people who are hurt, have to "understand" why do we have to "be patient" why should we be the ones who have to be tolerant? I have seven long hurtful years of experience in this area. I have never been so humiliated and ashamed any of my partners as I was with this one. I tried to be tolerant......I WILL NOT! I tried to understand......I WILL NOT!
Darkangelism
Originally posted by Bubbles Pretty soon Internet Pornography is going to be put before the Government and a ruling will have to be made. i doubt that. The government does not care as long as children don't have access, it isnt illegal.
fredrolin
My friends gave me a bachlor party the weekend before my wedding. My wife knew what was going to be going on and even permitted me to get oral sex from a hooker my friends hired but I didn't go through with it.
Author Bubbles
But that's the problem.....children DO have access to it. My own children know more about computers than I do.
Darkangelism
It is very hard for children to access, most sites require a credit card, or an age verification system, which uses a checking acc or credit card, it isnt as easy as it was when i was a kid.
Author Bubbles
And this proves what to me fredrolin? That YOU are an honest guy? If your wife does not have a problem with you being with anyone else then that's a situation that the two of you have agreed on. It is not an issue in YOUR house, but what about the millions and millions of other women who are not so open-minded? do we have to act the same way as your wife because you think that what she did was "really cool"? The actions of one does not interperite the actions of millions. I think that I have made an excellent point here this afternoon. No-one seems capable of arguing with me. Bubbles P.S. Normally I am not so overly opionionated, normally I just read and post every so often but I read a post this morning and I just had to pull the old soap box out.
Confused123
Bubbles... I have had the same issue with my boyfriend. Looking at that crap, bringing into our home. I thank you for added a post that is really true to many womens feelings. People are always saying that they are sick and tried of reading these post. That men are men and are very visual, they need their release, but I agree with you in makes my completely sick to my stomach. The thought of my man sitting in his office, looking at porn, drives me crazy. As much as I try to accept it, as much as I try to understand it doesn't mean he is not happy with me, it still bother me...
Darkangelism
what point is that, i havnt seen a point you have made that hasnt been argued. You cannot outlaw porn, it wouldnt survive any longer then prohibition did, it would just go underground. Not to mention government is run by men, and they are not about to outlaw it. If you are unhappy with your guy watching porn then leave him.
Author Bubbles
And you have every right to feel upset. If you don't appreciate it being brought into your home then you have every right not to have it in your home. I remember back in the day my Grandmother said to my Grandfather that if he ever brought home a Playboy or anything even remotely close to is that he might as well pack his bags because he is as good as dead if she ever caught him. She meant it. My Grandfather NEVER crossed the line. He valued his wife and his family. We as a society are far too accepting of pornography......we really don't have to be. EnigmaXOXO
You know bubbles, I always thought "to each his own," although my partner and I aren't into porn...we prefer each other. But what really gets my goat is the way the porn industry uses the net to ram this crap down your throat. It's one thing if you log onto a site by "choice"... but quite another when you have to invest lots of $$$$$ to install spam detectors, pop-up blockers and triple firewalls on your home network just so that you can upload your website, surf the net and access your email in peace! And somehow they still manage to get through!! (grrrrrrrrrrr)

I disagree. It is very easy for children to access pornography. There are free sites and the "teaser" ads for the paysites don't hold anything back, including video clips. We switched internet providers at home a week ago and we were checking our parental controls to make sure our kids could not access porn. We found graphic pictures, video, and sounds of couples, gay/lesbian, group, fetish, and other forms of sex - all free with no prequalification at all. A full-length instructional video on how to use some sex toys was available as well. All I had to do was click AGREE that I am 18 or older. My grade schoolers could just as easily have clicked AGREE. I did not have to provide a credit card or anything else. The pay sites offer longer videos and more images - but total porn is freely available to anyone. Type in Howard Stern Porn on your browser and you'll see what I mean. Kids don't need a full-length movie - they can just keep watching the same video clips over and over. The playboy magazines are still wrapped on the newsstand so that kids can't browse (sometimes they are behind a counter and you have to ask for them) but much worse is freely available on the 'net. Author Bubbles
You know; it's only human nature to be curious, but it is not an excuse for being ignorant to the ones that you claim to love. Self control is much more Honorable than curiosity. Mark my words....this will fall into the Governments hands! I have a challenge for all of those who dis-agree with me. The next time you are in a place where there are more than one (1) woman around.......say this "Internet Porn is cool!" Watch the reactions!!! You'll be lucky to get out of the room alive. jenny
The actions of one does not interperite the actions of millions. i think that is a very valid statement. i am unclear about the sense of the rest of your manifesto. what is your conclusion, exactly? if you start with what you feel should be done about the problem and then cite the justifications, that will help me understand. right now what you have is a collection of anecdotal stories, followed with some anger, *not* a debatable argument. the only reason i would push you on this is beause you want to make it into a strong argumentative point, and it's just sound and fury now. it's a great vent, but could be a good argument. you would not last 3 minutes in any official debate. so, you're right, as it stands now, i can't argue with your statements because they are not coherent enough to do so. i can't claim anything against your grandfather, but i could cite my own incredible fiancee; i could ante up many, many, women who are cool about pornography to match your masses of angry ones? these are good opening stories, but not real points. if you're up for it, let's have a real discussion about porn. i'm throwing down the gauntlet; we'll open a new thread if you accept. issue: internet pornography should be banned. yea or nea. - you can even go first. faux
I got into computing when I got into programming at age 11. I had no access to the internet and I didn't need it. I had my C++ and other things. I suppose I am of the half that learned how to use a computer for non-pornographic reasons, although I am quite certain there are many more who would prove your statement wrong. It seems to me that if a man is caught viewing pornographic material on even one occasion his partner deems it excessive and problematic. I believe that this stems from not necessarily a lack of self-esteem on the part of the woman, but extremes in thinking exhibited by male and female. There will always be such differences and I do not believe there is any easy way to alleviate the confusion. I would make a request that all women like-minded to your situation observe the general male population. This topic is brought up so frequently that one would think pornographic addiction has reached epidemic proportions in the United States. One can then assume that if this were in fact so there would be a great deal of medical publication and media coverage to support such a theory. Your own father, more than likely, has viewed or continues to view pornographic imagery in some form. If you have any male siblings no doubt that they have done so or will do so at some point in their lives. Even your grandfather most likely has done the same evil, unspeakable act. Unless you believe your family to be dysfunctional and immoral I do not believe that viewing pornographic images is actually such a major issue, or can be proved to be the cause of many problems. If you ever have a male child no doubt he will at some point in his life view this objectionable material as well. Men viewing pornography is prevalent. Pornography has existed in human culture for quite a bit longer than most realize. With the invention of painting came pornographic images, in fact. Upstanding cultural male figures, presidents, religious leaders, just to name a few, have most likely at one point enjoyed some form of erotic imagery. I seem to notice an on-going trend in these types of situations. Namely, a man will be caught by his significant other viewing pornographic images. The significant other will be shocked and taken aback by the discovery, and tend to feel insecure, unworthy and stripped of her sense of pride and accomplishment in many areas. In an attempt to rectify her feelings she will attempt to promote the situation to epidemic proportions, claiming that her partner is suffering from some sort of sinful influence, or that he is addicted to such activities. In my own experiences I liken this to women being perhaps more social, especially in regards to their innocence in associating on a friendly level with other males. Such behavior is not seen as wrong or immoral by the woman, but the man often feels the same sense of insecurity and stripped sense of pride that the woman may feel in relation to the pornography issue. It should be noted that the woman in nearly all cases does not intend to betray her partner, but simply views having opposite sex friends to be an integral part of her social life. More importantly, the man may not understand this as the idea may be completely foreign to him, but it makes perfect sense to the woman. Similarly, a man viewing pornography will of course have his own reasons for doing so, and he may feel fully justified in doing so. He intends to cause no harm and will be unable to understand why his partner has a problem with it. I am assuming in my argument that the individual viewing pornography attempts to do so on his own time as a personal and private act. A difference of opinion between male and female, and individual to individual will always exist on this issue. The fact remains, however, that viewing erotic imagery is a personal choice that ought not be governed by anyone other than oneself. We all do things in private that others may not understand or approve of. Invading or attempting to control the privacy of another individual always leads to problems. If a man wishes to view erotic imagery it is then his own choice. I will assume that until you discovered that this was going on you had little serious problems with the person. I will also assume that there are things you do that he would not approve much of, no matter how much sense the activities make to you. Free will is an individual's right. Who are YOU to judge what is right and wrong about certain activities when in every aspect they remain wholly tied to that individual's personal privacy, to which you, nor anyone else, is or should be involved in?
