What's the nicest thing your SO has ever done for you?

Recommended Posts

My husband has done tons of nice things for me. One that sticks out in my mind is on our wedding night. I was down in the bar at the hotel and he said he was running to the bathroom. A little while later we went up to our room. I opened the door and there were rose pedals from my bouquet sprinkled all over the floor and bed, and a bottle of champagne was in a bucket next to the bed. He even carried me over the threshold. It was very sweet. :)

My husband has done so many kind things for me

Something that I have always remembered happened 4 months in to our relationship. I was living in a huge house with a couple roomies for 5 years at this time and it was time for everyone to move out. I was 23, clueless and broke.

On move out day there was tons of chaos. I had accumulated a ton of old furniture that wasn't going to fit in my new studio, I realized that my mattress wasn't going to fit in my car, things were a mess. I was freaking out because I had to move in to the studio that weekend and we had to have everything out of the house. My then bf of four months borrowed his friends huge pick up truck, loaded it up with all the old stuff I wasn't bringing and took it to the dump. He then helped me pack up all my stuff and helped me move. I remembered feeling so thankful that he was able to step in, calm me down and resolve an issue that was so overwhelming to me.

The nicest thing my husband has ever done was to propose marriage. There's no greater compliment than telling someone you not only love them but want to spend the rest of your life with them.

Ah shoot, waaaaaaay too many to choose just one. So I'll go with the fact that for past couple of years he has been loving, thoughtful, honest, and loyal. He has been the most wonderful partner to me long past getting through some very rocky times in our relationship. He just makes me the happiest girl every day - even when I get mad and want to strangle him. Oh, plus I get to marry this special gem

takes good care of me when I'm really sick, and doesn't let on that the whining bothers him (yes, I'm a whiner when I feel that bad), just does really considerate things. Mostly, he's really sweet about just hugging me and holding me, which makes me feel really, really beloved :love::love:

My husband has done lots of lovely things for me. He still proposed after I nearly sabotaged every step of our engagement trip! He helped me create our gorgeous daughter and he is the most wonderful father.

As a standout thing, the most noble thing my husband has done for me is help the undertaker move my dad into a custom made coffin after he had died. We had Dad at home for a few days before the funeral. Long story short, the coffin was too big for the doors, so his body had to be taken out it it, and it had to be moved separately.

H helped move dad as he knew that my mother nor I would be able to cope with it.

I will never forget his face streaming with tears after he had done that....

PS- This IS still a happy thread. Sorry for the morbid story.

sb129, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your H is so wonderful. I'm glad you posted your story.

A big thanks to all! It's very heartwarming to know that your SO are so caring. Thank you all for sharing your stories. I love them all!

I had multiple miscarriages. I cried a lot. My H took me to a little getaway. I was able to relax and enjoy our time off. We found out I was pregnant again, and the baby was conceived during the trip. I was able to carry my baby to full term. The nicest thing he has ever done was to take me on that little getaway.

This thread was a great idea Kuma. I am so sorry for your losses both Kuma and Sb129. Naturally, people come to an advice board to vent or rant or get help for trouble. It's nice to see a thread that talks about the every day wonderful relationships. There are plenty of wonderful men and women out there
