it has occured to me today that maybe my proverbial goat is a little slutty - she seems to get 'gotten' relatively easily.

not knowing what else to do, i checked for the etymology of this idiom on the internet, but i have not found anything thus far. my searches are heavily restricted, however, as i am in no mood today to see what kind of porn such a search might invoke.

so, my question to forum is: what gets your goat? what or whom makes you react beyond your limits? what tests your capacity for rationality?

no one likes gerunds

I like gerunds!

Have to get back on the goat-getting. Just had a great conversation with a good friend, am about to go dancing, and so am feeing a general benevolence to everyone and everything - don't want to ruin it with thinking of things that frost me.

Oh, ok. Here's one. When AIM messes up my internet connection and makes me disconnect and redial.

lol - curt - i love it! particularly the shampoo!

i trained today until muscle failure, but i can't lose the beast yet. its a bad strange feeling, but the idiom makes me happy - i like the thought of demanding the return of my kidnapped hypothetical goat from someone a great deal.

p.s. wow - i really have to sort this out. i feel vaguely angry at my fiance for not being here now. i'm happy to wait for him, don't get me wrong, and i know his overtime will pay for our honeymoon. but i need him.

i'm guessing i should take this as a strong indication that i need to find other social contacts.

Yep. Emotions will grab the brains of the most rational of us and twist them into just such knots. Been there, fought that.

It gets my goat when people are petty and judgemental about really insignificant things. I think one of the reasons I hate it so much is that it's undeserved so I never expect it. I'm never relaxed around people who do this because you know something will offend them any minute and you'll have to deal with the crap or have your silence taken as agreement.

Hear hear, meanon! The other thing that really bugs me is when so-called mutual friends try to score points by slagging off one of their number in their absence.
