knaveman Posted December 11, 2010 Share Posted December 11, 2010 I started drinking massive amounts of water daily. I drink at least 4 liters a day. I've noticed a change in my energy, skin, and digestive functions. All for the better. Has anyone else tried something like this and what changes have you seen? Link to post Share on other sites

Relieves stress like nothing else and yeah, I feel so much better. I combined that with eating salads and I feel pretty toned. From what I have read it's only too much if you drink massive amounts in a very short period of time. If you spread it out over the course of the day your body has a chance to use or remove the water properly. I drink four liters between the time I wake up and the time I go to bed. Author knaveman Posted December 14, 2010 Author Share Posted December 14, 2010 I'm not sure if it's because of all the water I've been drinking or the changes to my diet over the last week or two, but I've noticed my beer gut shrinking. I haven't lost any weight, according to the scale, but my gut and love handles are definitely smaller. Also, drinking this much water really helps avoid hangovers it you over do it a little on the weekend. Link to post Share on other sites

Once when I was sick with the flu, I dehydrated too much,after the flu should have run it's course I still felt very bad. Then I drank a liter of water and made a nearly instant recovery. TaraMaiden Posted December 31, 2010 Share Posted December 31, 2010 I was about to leave work the other evening and rang home to let my partner know that.... he was in bed, massive headache, his eyes hurt, and he just felt awful. I got home, poured him a pint of cold water, and told him to drink it. Within 15 minutes the headache had gone, and his eyes felt better. he has diabetes type II, so he should know better. Signs that you need water are more blurry vision (particularly noticeable if you already wear glasses) thinner earlobes, lank hair, and thinner lips. These are classic physical manifestations of your body needing water. if you begin to feel really thirsty, you're already dehydrating. I always wondered why the above physical signs were significant. Having studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, (TCM) I now understand that the ears & hair are associated with the kidneys and as such with the fluids and function within the body, the lips are manifestations of the stomach/Large intestine - both of which need water for digestion and the processing of food, and eyes - well, eyes are MADE of water, aren't they? Full of a liquid called 'Aqueous humour' it's this that enables us to focus on objects properly.... This all sounds like total gobbledygook - but having studied it extensively, really, it does all make sense... And TCM is still used predominantly in China (Lots of people in China) as a primary method of personal care. I would take issue with this logic. The "Flat Earth" theory predates our modern knowledge by several thousand years, but most people don't believe it has much going for it Link to post Share on other sites
