joeLove Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Do you have a particular artist/poet/song writer, whose lyric has done good things in your romantic life? Since I'm fluent in Spanish, Julio Iglesias has been pretty inspiration for me ... How about you?

I like and relate to some the songs from gilberto santa rosa, roberto carlos. In english I've wished for 1-2 yrs that one day I could apply the following song to pmy life: Suddenly by Billy xxxx/forgot his last name now. Songs are very therapuetic for me. I lov listening and reading the lyrics of certain songs. Edited December 28, 2010 by alexlakeman
Author joeLove Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 What I meant by that is, there are songs, that really help you relate to particular situations and make it easy for you to bridge some bad situations. There are also situations, where I couldn't find the words to say express myself to a woman, and I simply found the appropriate song (thank you youtube)... What do you mean by "done good things" in your romantic life?
Author joeLove Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 Yes, I know a few songs from Gilberto Santa Rosa as well ... "La Conciencia", "Perdoname" are some I can remember right now ... Since I'm fluent in Spanish, Julio Iglesias has been pretty inspiration for me ... How about you? A couple of songs by the Finnish group HIM. There's a couple of their songs that my boyfriend and I have dedicated to one another. The one that reminds me of him the most is their song Right Here In My Arms because of the following verses: "So hard she's trying but her heart won't turn to stone, And she keeps on crying cause I won't leave her alone, She'll never be alone."

There were sad songs that I listened to a lot after breakups and songs I couldn't listen to afterwards because they held too many memories. But I don't think there were any songs that I listened to where I had epiphanies about how to talk to a guy.
denise_xo Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Lamb - Gorecki (for expressing love) The Autumn Leaves - Edith Piaf (for getting over love) Is this love - Alison Moyet (for rekindled/nostalgic love)

Oh, I like those lyrics, too. But I prefer Tracy Chapman's version. I also really like the lyrics of her 'Promise'. I spent two years being heart broken to that song

denise_xo Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I can't listen to this anymore, it makes me sad. Aaw, sorry I've cried lots to that. Don't know if that really did me any good, though Anyway, hope you cheer up. If she's not worth it, launch and move on.

january2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) There is such a beautiful simplicity to songs like Fast Car, Can I Hold You and The Promise. The combination of the lyrics, her voice, the music - it's very lovely. Edited December 28, 2010 by january2010

january2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 ^^^ Good start. Here's the link for (Baby) Can I Hold You:
guitar23 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Sometimes music is the best therapy. While there are a lot of obscure songs and artists that I turn to from time to time, 3 songs that have gotten me through difficult times. All well known artists, but for some reason not all of the songs are widely known. 1. She's Out of My Life - Michael Jackson 2. Don't Cry - Guns and Roses 3. It's The Falling in Love - Michael Jackson*** *** This one works when both happy and sad, as one of the greatest lines I can relate to is repeated throughout the song: "It's the falling in love that's making me high/ it's the being in love that makes me cry..."
Jannah Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Completely not romantic, and I have no idea what the song means, but I like it.
Stonewall Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I can't believe this one hasn't been put up yet!
