hotgurl
Well first I would like to say I am 147 down from 165. My goal is to be 125-130. I am a size 10 and I am hoping to fit into a size 6. But a size 8 would be good. My goals in terms of food would be to stick to my weight wathcers plan. log, log log in the food journal. Basically eating healthy food. low fat meat, cheeses, fruits and veggies and complex carbs. My major challenge will be to cut down on the wine. I like to have a glass or two with dinner. My exercise plan is to well exercise. I ski on Sundays so during the week I will get on my exercise bike and work up to an hour and throw in some strength training every other day to start. I would like to hit my goal in MArch-(I have till than to buy my bridesmaid dress. Any one else have any health goals for the new year?
Yer_Blues
19yo at 217 right now from 325ish. I'm going to get down to 170-180 by summer I think, as long as my knee heals as quickly as I've been told it will (just had surgery). From there I'll probably be lean enough to focus more on muscle mass. I have a real big frame and a lot of weight in the legs, in case anyone wonders why I set my goal weight so high. hotgurl - that's a great goal for March. Should keep you real busy on that exercise bike . Congrats on the weight loss so far, always fun to set new goals when you already have had some success. If for any reason things aren't on schedule for losing the weight by the wedding, I would consider doing some running as well. It's just always been the most time efficient method for me, and it's a good change of pace from the bike sometimes. Good luck

But right now it is cold dark and icy. I live in VT. Once it is a little lighter in the evenings I will go out and run. I prefer to exercise outside since I would all day in a windowless office. But for now the bike. I hope you heal quickly. Knee injuries suck. I have patellar tendonitis so I have to be careful no squats or lunges for me.
Leigh 87
I am already close to the weight that I look my best at - 115 lbs on a full stomach, and 114.4 when on totally empty. I am 5 ' 5, and looking to lose to about 110 - 112 lbs, through starting running 3 days a week for 30 minutes, in addition to doing a matt workout DVD daily. In addition to the fitness, I will eat properly too. I am kick starting my weight loss and health with a 24 hour fast - I have never fasted 24 hours before, so this should be interesting! I HIGHLY recommend running to look your best - I started running about two months ago, and I did it about 3 days a week for 30 minutes, and I lost weight and looked the best possible for my body type. sb129
Leigh87- I thought you were already AT your goal? Losing more? Hmm. HG- well done on the weight loss! I was horrified to discover yesterday that I put on 6lbs over the Christmas period, on Christmas Eve I was at my desired weight, but not any more! Wine is my downfall too, and all the weight has gone on my middle thanks to lots of champagne, cheese and chocolate. I even went running and to the gym over the break so I would hate to know what would have happened if I didn't! Never mind, I know how to lose it again, New Years detox here we come! Leigh 87
sb129 - 51 kilos is my goal, but it is HOW I look that matters - meaning, I want to run 4 days a wweek because it makes my body look its best - I can be thin and look bad, if I do not work out ( skinny fat haha), I am almost up to 53 kilos now:( Wine is also my downfall! I can drink a bottle over the course of a long night - 3/4 of a bottle for one night.
Leigh 87
I have been eating midnight peanut butter out of the jar, and I had a 3.30 am cheese sandwich cos I was bored and I find comfort in food at times lol! SO I guess I cannot just eat a huge sandwich at night,a nd expect to stay slim - it is not the calories of the midnight snacks - but it thro hws me off - cos I have calories too easrly on, and I have less room to eat during the way when I NEED the actual energy lol! I will be happy with simply not snacking most nights ( although the odd midnight snack is fine, it should no be a huge snack). I just want to stick to normal meals, and regular running at the gym again:)
Leigh 87
I have decided to use common sense and hard work to lose weight and attain my ideal body. regular meals. Running most days at the gym. My metabolism will stay higher if I eat regularly and start intense exercise again. Fasting is something I can do once I can do even the basics: I even struggly with not eating a midnight treat every night ( when I am not hungry). So for me: simply being able to wait until I am hungry to eat instead of JUST eating because I feel like the taste - and using common sense and etc, is what I shall do:) It will be hard work to be 112 lbs and be in top shape; but it will be easier than fasting for two days just to lose the last 2 - 4 lbs. Good luck every one - I hope we can all just use common sense, andstry really hard, whilst still enjoying life as much as we can.
sb129
Hell Leigh, I have been known to drink nearly TWO bottle of wine. Peanut butter and cheese are two things I don't eat normally- they are terrible.. Do you think that perhaps you aren't eating enough during the day and thats why you get hungry in the night? Keridan
205 and looking to be 190 again, but with lots of muscle regained. In the last two years, I got married, had a child, and moved across the country. I've rapidly shifted from muscle mass to ugly mass. So it's really like wanting to lose 3 times the weight. I just want to do it healthily. I, too, have a late night snacking problem. Is there a support group for that? I want to get rid of that and start cooking more during the day. Good luck to everyone! Green
You should train hard like Edward & Alfonse! good luck Leigh keep up the good work!

That is a great idea! Lets start a night snacking support group! Although: if you are trying to lose weight, you will be hungry at night and unable to sleep - SO, I think for people losing weight, that they should place a small hand ful of raw nuts besides their bed. That way, they will only eat at night if they are genuinly hungry and unable to sleep; if you are dieting and cannot sleep due to hunger, then raw nuts, only a small amount, wiill enable you to sleep. For me: I know it genuine hunger if I feel like raw almonds; because I do not like almonds much - dont hate them, but do not enjoy them either. If I am truly hungry, I will make do with almonds lol. I have eaten at night every night so far since 2011 - tonight is the night to stop:) I will let one of you guys make a night eating support thread, I have made enough threads already

kassy
Ah so I really need to lose the weight I have packed on since my last operation on my leg. I stood on the scales yesterday and nearly died from shock. I knew I had put on a fair bit... but was obviously in denial about how much!!! Anyway so I'm 5 foot 2 and weigh a staggering 172 pounds. I'm pretty disgusted with myself. Anyway nevermind all I can do is change it. I am back to cycling and swimming and have just started Yoga, and now I would like to get my hot body back thanks. Initial goal is to get back to 136 which puts me at a healthy BMI (and hasn't been seen for at least the last 5 operations. Then I'd like to get to 115 (still healthy) as I feel great at that weight. To be honest right now I'd just like to get out of the 170's!!! I quite like this guy who just put on 3kg over the christmas period and has a 'gut' for the first time in his life and is freaking out haha It's hilarious. Somehow I doubt that in my current physial state I can really get a guy like that, but at least he is helping me lose the weight, nothing like a hot training buddy for motivation:)
Leigh 87
Kassy - 115 lbs sounds like a great weight for 5' 2! And yes - there is nothing better than a hot guy for motivation! In fact - whenever I feel like emotional eating - or over eating once I am full - I think of a hot body builder at my gym ( who I had a fling with). It seriously stops me from over eating! I mean, I would never let some one as hot as him see me stuffing food in when I am not hungry, so that sets a standard for me - if the way in which u r about to eat would look gross to a super hot guy - don't do it haha. Yoga is excellent - I do not know much about it, but it is a dicsipline that a person can do throughout their whole lives, and still be able to improve and grow from. It takes a long time to get good at yoga - to do it properly, and then move on to advanced poses In addition to being great for your health, for instance, it enhances your ability to breath properly ( which is actually something a lot of people do not do well); yoga also gives you a GREAT body, if done regularly. Honestly - if you only do resistance work, such as weight training, and cardio alone, you will not get as good of a body, as if you did yoga and/or Pilates in addition to your routine. kassy
Hi Leigh, Thanks for the encouragment. I'm not sure picturing my training buddy will be as motivating as you suggest. It'll just make it easier to get out of bed to go ride before work:) Don't forget whenever we are training we are in lycra... not exactly a good look for me right now haha I'm not sure seeing me eat could be more off putting than seeing me in my swimmers! I'm not especially concerned with being good at Yoga, just doing it for the flexibility as part of rehab after my last operation. To be honest I've done triathlon most of my life and between swimming and cycling I'll be able to get fit and healthy again as well as having fun doing sports I love with great people. Getting my body back, while important is actually secondary. It's more about the fact that I can't believe when I love sports, and health and fitness, I managed to slowly but surely get so fat and unhealthy. It's amazing how much more tired I am all the time at this weight. I hate it! So time for a change, for good, not just drop a few pounds and then get distracted and put it all back on! Star Gazer
Honestly - if you only do resistance work, such as weight training, and cardio alone, you will not get as good of a body, as if you did yoga and/or Pilates in addition to your routine. DISAGREE.
Leigh 87
haha - I prefer the way a womens body looks when they do yoga and Pilates IN ADDITION to their regular weights and cardio, to how their body looks WITHOUT the yoga and Pilates. I think if a women only does weights and cardio, they will not look as good as they would look, if they did pilates and/ or yoga. And no, I am not averse to women lifting heavy weights in case you were going to re hash on my apparent disdain for muscular women - I think weights are great for some women, but not all, and Pilates and yoga are, in my opinion, just as imperative as weight training for women. It is justt my opinion - it is what I think looks best for women, and what is best for your body too. By the way STAR - I told people you said I had a flabby stomach, and they all laughed and could not believe their ears LOL. I aimt perfect, but deff do not have a flabby stomach. OH - and it was very immature of u to talk to me like I was deliberatly showing my breasts in my picture on face book - I always wear low cut V necks for it suits my body type. NO intention of getting people to look at the boobs.
Leigh 87
What you were doing previously sounds like a great variety of activities - things you enjoy enough to sustain AND a variety of different things, so your body is not stuck on doing the same thing. Seriously, every women is different. Some need to lift heavy weights on the machines in a gym 2 - 4 days per week, in addition to cardio; where as for other women, doing triathlons regularly could be ENOUGH, without lifting weights. Regardless of your fitness routine, you can get great results from doing cardio or weight training, or a bit of both; however, throwing in a yoga class will enhance how your body performs on a functional level, which may aid in your tirathlons. Yoga is really hard I think - to do the advanced poses and to stick to it, and to concentrate on getting the breathing correct. It will be better for your body if you did it, as oposed to not doing it.
