Are most people in life scared?

Recommended Posts

Do most people experience fear of everything? Whether life, or death, or commitment, etc.?

Is this the reason most people cannot handle me getting normal knowledge, due to fear? Is this fear rational/balanced, or even justifiable?

If validly based, or based on rational grounds. Fear against me getting the usual life knowledge is not.

Knowledge is power. Power can be feared. Knowing frees you. Freedom is also power. This causes those who wish to enslave you in ignorance to become fearful of your new-found knowledge and power.

This dynamic can often happen in relationships. One party is denied normal knowledge to the benefit of the other. Fear of equality is often at the root. It's an irrational fear, IMO.

so whose issue is that? People need to get over it, including all of you. It's my right to normal knowledge. Please say why it is not.

I don't fear you getting life knowledge.. I welcome it..

The only thing I ever feared was dying alone.. now that I have a child to wipe my butt when I get older that fear was alleviated....

My wife and I talk about this... he will be taking us to court at the age 16 to have us put away.. hahaha

Perhaps others are too scared of you getting it. If you get the normal knowledge, then you would be far ahead of everyone else on the planet. I don't have the normal knowledge.

Is it my right to have the normal knowledge of life, or is it just yours?

Is the normal knowledge in limited quantities? Because if it is then it is questionable if it is your right to get it?

Does anyone else have the normal knowledge of life to your knowledge?

Are you seeking what cannot be found thinking that anyone else is in your way when truly there exists no normal knowledge?

How do you know that the normal knowledge even exists? How do you know that others have not simply made it up or that you deluded yourself into believing it exists?

If you find it and are willing to share, please pass some over to me.

I will help you find it when I know better what it is. I promise.

I fear the unknown, the future and where I am going in life. I have learnt lately that all you can do is follow your passion and everything should fit in.

Could you please help explain what you mean "normal knowledge"? I think I saw this posted recently somewhere else.

As for fear, yup, got loads of it. Loads, truck loads, have since I can remember. Struggles have made me stronger, and at times, more fearful. Mixed bag, I don't fear some of the things I used to as much, but I fear new things perhaps. I still fear a lot. I have had to overcome a lot in this life, and it sort of makes me fear what's next. It has also given me a lot of strength to tackle some huge mountains, thus reducing some fear.

Normal knowledge about what? Life, love, people, politics, ? Pls explain normal.

thanks

Before I continue, I'll answer the original question.

Of course everybody's afraid of something. Anyone who isn't is either lying to you or to themselves. Death is one of the more common fears, as not only are there some pretty painful ways to do it, but nobody who's dead has ever come back and said "this is what happens...". It's as much a fear of the unknown as it is of the act of dying itself. Same goes for commitment. It's a whole new life, and that scares a lot of people. That's why people who continually complain about their jobs still refuse to apply elsewhere. People tend to like what they know; there's less chance of failure that way.

Now, on to other matters...

CGYT, please, don't get him started again. He has a whole BS thread devoted to this. People have tried to get him to clarify what he means by "normal knowledge of life" and he dodges the question repeatedly. He either wants some magical answer to everything handed to him on a silver platter, or he's trolling. Either way, he's annoying.

Jean-luc, you know why you don't have "normal knowledge"? It's not because you weren't raised right, or because the rest of the world is afraid of you having it, or because of any other JFK/Hoffa/Roswell conspiracy theories.

You know why you don't have "normal knowledge"? It's your own fault.

Close your browser, turn off your computer and get out in the world. That's how you learn. That's the only way you learn some things. You can read all the bloody books you want on survival in the Arctic, but until you've been North of 66, it's only words; it doesn't mean a thing. The rest of the world, even the civilized parts, work the same way. You want to know how something really works? Get out there and try it. Try it a few times, because the first time rarely works as advertised in the brochure.

So feel free to keep asking us this inane question all you want, but it won't make a lick of difference. We're not trying to stop you from whatever the heck this "normal knowledge of life" thing is that you think you're owed; frankly, we don't care. I will lay money right here and now that not one person on this forum is losing sleep because you haven't learned how to be the epitome of "normal" (which is a misnomer - none of us are normal). We all have more personally pressing (and realistic) matters to deal with than someone on a forum who wants the mysteries of the universe revealed to him in a Chinese fortune cookie. The only reason we're not helping you more is because you're not helping yourself.

So answer me this: since you're not lifting a finger to help yourself, why should we?

How is it my fault? the fact is everybody else has it by default. it comes to everybody else by default.

As an example, most people in life don't have extraordinary experiences. yet they know normal knowledge. You mention that I want it handed on a silver platter, well why not? I know people who are not intellectually acute, have no interests other than watching TV or going out to clubs/bars, and they still have normal knowledge. what is that they do? this is evidence that it comes via default, and not via reading books or some such.

You think we all have it by default? You might want to re-check your score card, 'cause your numbers are wrong. Other than the need to eat, breathe and sleep, we learned what we know by getting out there and doing it. Hell, we don't even know what we need to eat by default. We just try things until we find something that works...or is poisonous.

What's considered normal? It all depends on who you are. If you're a student, you live by one set of rules. If you're an exec, it's another. If you're a gang banger, it's a whole new set, and if you're a biker, it's a different set altogether. The penalties for violating each set of rules is different as well, based on who you are and who you're with. I'm not saying they're the only examples, but they're a few of them. You can be in the same city, in the same neighbourhood and have entirely different existences. Same planet, different worlds, different rules.

So until you figure out which world you're in and exactly what aspect of it you want to learn, no one can help you.

However, there are a few generic ones, and I'll give you one for free, to answer your question. Once you've grown up, nobody owes any one anything. The only people who ever owed you anything were your parents. They were responsible for bringing you into existence, so they were responsible for raising you. After that, it's good luck Chuck. That's why your friends may have knowledge that you don't, and nobody is running out to catch you up on it. They don't owe it to you, but you still seem to expect it to be delivered for no apparent reason. It won't happen.

Extraordinary events lead to extraordinary knowledge. Ordinary events lead to ordinary knowledge. As long as you're paying some attention, you'll start gleaning ordinary (i.e. normal) knowledge from it. But unless you get out there and start living, you'll never learn. That's the only way it'll happen.

oh **** off. everybody has normal life knowledge by default, so why not me? Why the heck should it bother you so? Read the hyperlink in my OP, you clearly need it, since you're sounding loopy and irrational.

good for you bambooland, good for you.

Jean Luc Sisko, normal like Johnny stated is relative. Just like anything else so when you say normal you may be seeking tons of knowledge. That which is normal and that which is unnormal depends on who your talking to and who is to even define those two boundaries in the first place? Nothing he said was irrational by the way. His argument is sound he actually has a premise. Unfortunately you have none, you just ask for normalacy which is cool that's what Socrates did his whole life and he was awesome. But I just don't think you should get offended about it, instead you should man up and give a good counter argument. I will take a look at your original post about normal knowledge cause it seems interesting to me.

By your own admission, you do not have normal knowledge. Therefore, you are unequipped to declare these as facts.

No, everybody's right.

Is the normal knowledge in limited quantities? Because if it is then it is questionable if it is your right to get it?

No, since there is no reason why I cannot get it. on what basis is it limited?

Does anyone else have the normal knowledge of life to your knowledge?

Yes, everybody does.

Are you seeking what cannot be found thinking that anyone else is in your way when truly there exists no normal knowledge?

it does exist.

How do you know that the normal knowledge even exists? How do you know that others have not simply made it up or that you deluded yourself into believing it exists?

i know for a fact that it exists.

i know for a fact that it exists.

If you know for a fact that it is exists, then you know something that I don't, because I didn't know that it exists and that I had knowledge that someone else did not have and wanted to have.

If I can figure out the knowledge that I have, that you would like, I will try to find a way to express it and pass it on to you.

I believe in sharing knowledge and it there is anything that I can do to get to you what you think the "normal knowledge" is then I would be more then happy to help. Perhaps you could exchange that with me for the knowledge of why you know it exists and why you know everyone else has it but you at that time.

If I find out someone else knows what it is that you are seeking, I will also pass it on.

I think you need to be specific about what it is that you are expecting to find and learn. The term "Normal Knowledge" is very vague.

What do you want to know?

IE: "How do I make friends?"

Is that, making friends, I mean, an example of what you consider to be a part of this "Normal Knowledge" that you feel you lack?

If you want to learn something, you need to be clear about what specifically it is that you wish to become enlightened.

Also, it would make life easier for you if you'd not tell people who are just trying to understand what you're asking to " F.... off" and tell them that they're in need of mental health.

Open your mind a bit and try not to be so self-absorbed.

We're all trying to figure out the rules of this game called Life as we go along. You're not really much different than the rest of us.
