Anyone against interracial dating???

Recommended Posts

Ive been in an interracial relationship for over a year and its been the best relationship that ive ever been in and we are actually engaged and very happy. i am muliracial(mostly black) and he is mexican. i recently saw a True Life episode where IR couples were discriminated against. i was just wondering if anyone feels or if they know anyone who feels that interracial dating is wrong. is anyone here in an interracial relationship? do u have any struggles? we dont get any rude comments or anything but ive noticed that black men are usually the ones giving us dirty looks. we dont care ,we are in love and love showing it. Any stories from anyone?

Feelin Frisky

I'm not in an inter-racial relationship now but I was for 5 years with an African -American sweety, bless her heart wherever she is. There were some social discomforts. But that was a long time ago. I surely don't see anything wrong with it. Mixed and Mexican probably wouldn't stand out like me though--I'm so white and she was dark (in a most elightful way).

I've had a few IR relationships, and didn't have any serious problems. There was the odd minor case of prejudice, or a few acquaintances and friends revealing mild racist views, but nothing more than that. Then again, I lived in a large international city with about 40% non-white population. Things might be different in a small town with very little diversity.

I am not against the whole idea of (interracial marriage) however I feel it is unfair for some people like black women and asian men

They can hardly get in to interracial relationships, while black guys are mostly taken by white women and many asian women are being taken by white men.

until the day this changes, i am against the idea of Interracial marriage, because it is not fair for every body. If this changes and becomes fair, then i might change my mind.

Umm, so what? Relationships are also unfair on old people, ugly people, boring people, poor people etc.

A relationship is no one's business except the two people in it, and possibly their close friends and family. The views of complete strangers are an irrelevance. If some single person is bitter that two people fall in love - tough. Bear in mind that for every asian man or black woman, there is an asian girl or black man, and people from other races willing to date them. Up your game if you want to attract a partner. And discrimination works both ways - ever tried being a white dude trying to get with a muslim chick?

I have nothing against those who get involved in Interracial relationships. It's not my personal preference, I'm not racist by any means, it's mostly because I'm just not physically attracted to men from other races.

yet white guys think black women as mostly unattractive

We dont think that. Thats completely untrue, in the last 20 years the amount og black women dating white men has doubled or tripled % wise.

I'm white and my husband is Indian so clearly I'm not against it. We are lucky enough to live in a diverse and educated area and it's never been an issue. The closest race related thing people say is that my husband doesn't look Indian but no one has ever expressed disapproval of us.

Good luck to you and your bf, I hope your relationship remains happy and that you don't face any hate or negativity.

Do you know Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel? Well they were targeted a few years ago? for being an interracial couple.

I mean it's the 21st century, people are more open to this issue than they were, say, 50 years ago. If you live in an international city where the demographics are a mix, you do tend to see more interracial couples than a small midwestern town.

Personally, I'm Asian and I've dated mostly outside of my race. If people are going to stare, let them stare. The main point is that you're happy.

The only person in my circle who's ever voiced opposition to interracial relationships is one of my oldest friends.

He's white, and his wife is Asian.
