yes
i was just reading a book and there was an image of a very elderly man, sitting outside in blanket, listening to the sounds of the trees, trying to remember them, because he feels that very soon it will be the last time that he's hearing it. is that not the saddest image?? ones like this always make me cry... and with real people, i always think about being old, missing these years, remembeting details, regretting certain choices, realizing how great the times were, awaiting death... i don't know how people cope with feeling that their best times have already passed, that whatever mistakes they now regret cannot be undone, that any minute now, their next breath could be the last... not much point to this post, just felt like sharing -yes
Karlise
Oh, how sad. Yes, I sometimes get nostalgic for past good times. There are some family members I love who are far away now....friends I've lost touch with...pets who have died. There are times I think we all take old memories, dust them off, miss people and things we had. That said, it's important to savor what you have in the here and now. Bring yourself back to the present. one thing about memories, they are to teach us how to live better in the present time. Take each day and notice it, cherish the here and now, it's where you live. Remember the past, but embrace the present.
