The causes of symptoms need to be correctly diagnosed so that the management and treatment for either allergy, sensitivity or intolerance can be appropriately taken.A fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward opinions and practices that differ from one's own. Education is the only way I see to change that. People are always going to fear what they don't understand and fear easily turns into hate and/or intolerance.

Great question!! SO few understand that we carry a *bond* with certain foods. It falls under do you eat to live or live to eat. I personally enjoy some tasty meals and yummy desserts, so I get it that NO amount of educating my mind will change my taste buds! WHen they crave garlic, or fish, or french fries, the mind simply goes, yup that sounds good!

When food allergies are involved, it does take some creative trickery to change the habit. SO yeah I can see how educating yourself to take on different menus and types of food substitution....carob for chocolate, tea still has caffeine so I buy mint tea to soothe the stomach....or as a writer said...eat this , not that....Good read when in need :)

I have a food allergy to complex carbohydrates, also lactose, it gives me horrible gas. I drink soy milk instead of skim milk. I can't eat ice cream unless it's lactose free. If I eat foods with high sugar/carbs in it then I get massively bloated and puffy. I can't drink those sugary alcoholic drinks. There are "before and after" pictures of me prior to a margarita and after. I look like a different person!

There are replacement foods for those who are allergic, experiment with foods that you like and don't like. When you get a craving tell yourself how sick or bloated you will get and that will usually deter you. Associate gluten with a negative reaction and pick a replacement food that doesn't have gluten. It may not taste as good, but at least you won't get sick.

I have been eating lesser portions of the food I'm not supposed to eat, but I have always seen that a kind of failure on my part...Hmmmm maybe I should evaluate that. Thank you Tayla :)

.

Me too! If you have more and more days without any bad stuff in your diet, it takes longer for the reaction to get so severe.

I know :( I know I do take precautions, Finding food is too hard so I have just resolved myself to always carrying food with me. On dates I always pick the restaurant because guys always pick Italian! Why??? If I'm stuck then I can get nuts or doritos or nachos

But I still find myself eating them must be about training my cravings because it seems I'l never be rid of them.
