Wink Tobasco Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 T-shirt and jeans are not the uniform of a toolish show-off, but it doesn't exactly hide your body. I'm 50 and often wear T and jeans to outdoors activities. For the record they tell me I have a pretty good body. An ex once told me that older guys shouldn't wear T-shirts, only open collar shirts. Is that a fact? Are polo's and sport shirts better for older guys? I'm not talking about wife beater shirts or even white t-shirts, just plain colors T's.
carhill Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 One can ponder the health of listening to clothing advice from ex'es Go to any car show and regale in the rebellion of the middle-aged male
LeaningIntoTheMuse Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I don't think there's any age limit on wearing t shirts and jeans. It's foolish to think otherwise.
Eeyore79 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 My father wears jeans and tshirt, and he's almost 70. My neighbor is 75 and she wears jeans and tshirt too. I really don't think there's an age limit...
paleblue Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I think that’s ridiculous what your ex told you. who cares what you wear as long as you like it. anyone can wear a tshirt and jeans at any age.
reservoirdog1 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Your ex was probably just trying to make you feel insecure in your appearance. Hopefully you ignored her. T-shirt-and-jeans is, in this part of the world at least, the "uniform" of casual wear, for the young, middle-aged and old alike.
climbergirl Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I have no idea what world your ex lives in, but there is no age limit to wearing jeans/t-shirts. My fiance is 48 and looks hot in jeans and t-shirts---in fact, that is all he wears. Him in a polo shirt? Can't even imagine...
MrCaveman Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 You just wear what you feel comfortable in and forget about what anybody else thinks....as long is it's with in reason. By the way...YES T-shirts and jeans are perfectly fine.
stillafool Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Your ex was probably just trying to make you feel insecure in your appearance. Hopefully you ignored her. This. Ignore your ex, she's a fool.
Star Gazer Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Admittedly, I rarely see 50+ men in t-shirts. Usually they are wearing some other type of shirt. But there's certainly nothing wrong with it.

sam light Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 sometimes I think older guys just wear what they did "in their day". So todays t-shirt wearing crowd will be wearing them when they are older. I hope the Disco dudes of the 1980's don't wear those clothes when they get older.
Crimson and Clover Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 My dad is in his 50s and unless he is working or going somewhere fancy he always wears jeans, a cool weird graphics t-shirt, an unbuttoned flannel shirt over his t-shirt, and either running shoes or hiking boots. ALWAYS.
Star Gazer Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 ... I love, love, love your name... one of my favorite songs. Carry on...
threebyfate Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I've know of and have seen plenty of men in their fifties and older wearing t-shirts and jeans. But I have to say that this looks better on men who are thin to average weight.
StalledGirl Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Like most things in life...it depends on the person. Some older men look awful squeezed into a T-shirt and too tight jeans. You should wear want you want but always have an eye on the mirror just in case:bunny:
january2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Truth be told, I'm not a fan. But you're not dressing for my approval so make of my post what you will.
