My weight loss target

Recommended Posts

Hi,

In 2008, I was overweight (15 stone / 210lbs) when I started work at a new office. There was a cute girl there and that inspired me to start exercising; I did so and lost considerable weight. I was the lightest I'd been for years. At the end of 2008, I met a girl who I liked, which motivated me to keep the weight off. I was down at around 12.3 stone (172ish pounds, which I was rather happy with).

At the end of 2009, the girl I liked stopped seeing my group of friends for whatever reason, and as a result of not seeing her any longer, I lost track of my weight. I've gradually put on weight since then and now find myself at 14 stone (196lbs). This is a result of no exercise and far too much fast food. I'm tired of this.

I felt great in 2009 when I had cut the weight, now I just feel plain unhealthy and fat.

As such, I'm making a real effort to lose the weight again. This isn't a new years resolution, it's a realisation. I looked at photos of myself and can see the weight I've put on, and it disgusts me.

Key points to my weight loss;

-NO fast food. Last time I lost weight, I barely ate any for a year.

-Find a healthy crush. This will give me somebody to try and look good for.

-Exercise: at least 4 times a week.

-Target: 12 stone (168lbs). Hopefully more once I cut to that weight.

I will be posting here to give myself a reason to continue and keep me in the mindset of weight loss; an anchor, if you will. Any help is much appreciated.

I'm rooting for you! :bunny:

Thank you. :)

Started with my exercise last night. This is also my first day fast food free. Hoping I can keep up with what I've started. :D

oh good for you! Keep working on your diet and your work out. Remember you have to reward yourself now and then also. :)

I have my last 5 lbs. I want to be 110 again. I haven't had a chance to hit the gym since new year...and it's because I've been lazy. :( I'll start my walk tonight and will be up early for my gym. You have to root for me as well. Can we form our own support group? :D

oh and please remember, you're doing this for yourself and not for a crush. :)

Good luck with your target. Did you get to the gym?

But yeah, thanks for watching my progress. This thread does seem to be turning into our own support group. :p

I've been off the fast food since making this thread, which is 3 days. It may sound like I'm tracking a silly target here, but I've always found the first week of giving up fast food hardest.

I got on my exercise bike for 45 mins last night too. Hoping to keep it up. :)

thank you and no i haven't gone to the gym. my excuse is i've been busy...socializing. lolz i called two friends and they agreed to go to the gym with me in the morning instead of evening. i realize that afterwork, i just want to go home.

you've been good. no fast food for 3 days already. i've been eating out for past two months. i need to cut back on intake and spending. i don't really eat fast food but i have a weakness for french fries and sweets/desserts. What do you eat daily, salad or lean/white meat?

With regard to fat, the research is clear: Diets too high in fat promote overweight and obesity. You should strive to consume no more than 25 percent of your calories from fat and that fat should the “non-saturated” type. Don’t ever tell anybody you’re on a diet ever. I’m speaking from experience, here a reformed low carber. It is very good tips. Worked out well for a while, but ultimately failed because my entire lifestyle didn’t change (permanently).

I know the feeling. Get in from work and all you want to do is be at home. I find so, anyway.

I got to a week and had pizza today. Everybody got it at work and I obliged too(foolishly) and I feel awful now. I'll be on my bike again tonight though, so the day isn't a complete write off.

Back to square one now though, I say it takes 7 days for me to get away from fast food and I caved on my 7th day. Just gotta hope I can stay off it this time.

I just stick with my meals. Cereal in the morning, turkey sandwich at lunch then whatever for dinner. Nothing too fattening though. I rarely snack.

You been to the gym since the last post? ;)

That's awesome that you are motivated to be healthy again Danneth, power to you! Staying healthy is a lifetime commitment and it definitely won't happen overnight so keep at it and eventually you will see the results. You did it before so you know what it's going to take to meet your goal.

I also just started to get healthier. I have been going to the gym at least 4 times a week and staying away from fried stuff and junk food. Ithasnt been easy but I know I will feel so much better about myself after I lose about 40 pounds or so!

Good luck to you and keep at it!
