Why then, and not earlier, or later ?

Recommended Posts

To Christians in general: Why did God send 'his Son' ~2000 years ago?

Why not earlier ? I mean things were a mess since much earlier ! Injustice, war, hatred, oppression, discrimination, slavery, misogyny, sexual abuse of children.... all had been present (at least in that part of the world) for at least the preceding 4, 000 years !!!

Or if God wanted to wait until things got even worse... (in regards to truly large-scale-misery)... why not during WW II ?

Or (as it has been said) why not today, and take advantage of CNN to truly Shock and Awe the Whole World at Once into instant and utter Conversion and Redemption ?

Hope to hear more than "God works in mysterious ways..."

i don't think sending a messiah has anything to do with the level of misery in the world. there's been just as much if not more misery ever since JC showed up.

I reached the Switchboard, and after being on hold for several centuries, I was told that He was too busy taking calls from Planet Fubar in the Andromeda Galaxy. I had a lovely man as a sort of mentor when I was in my teens. He was an older priest and he was a sweetheart. Whenever someone raised a similar question, or complained about the weather, or spoke of any other such matter beyond mortal control, he'd say "Call the Central Office" :)

Hey there are some who beleive the CHRIST has not yet come. But from what you wrote , I know you are Christian of some sorts. I would not question GOD, as far as that goes. Maybe now the question really is, when will judgement day be? ( of course only GOD knows)

He didn't come sooner because he had to set the stage. All of the mericles that were performed by God before His son was sent....all the prophecies. All of those things were in God's perfect plan. The Old Testement is used for historical purposes too...(New Testement is about Christ), geneology, history, wars, etc, were all happening in those times too, and I think it helps us see that there is nothing new under the sun.
