lipshall
I recently got divorce. The divorce papers that I signed states that I would like to change my name back to my maiden name, however, at that time I was distraught and under a lot of stress. The divorce has been finalized. I have changed my mind about changing my last name because I don't want the hassle of changing it and because it's much easier to pronouce than my maiden name. I want to know what the legal implications are if I don't change my last name (ie. SSN, Driver's License, etc). Thank you
sportsloving
Talk to your attorney, but I don't think that you HAVE to change it back... just if you want to that the option is there. But then never changed mine back so no idea. Good luck
Tony T
You need to refer legal questions to a licensed attorney...member of the bar in good standing. Giving legal advice here in the forum could get us in jail and heavily fined. I think I know the answer to this but THINKING and KNOWING is the difference between a guy who's watched a lot of Court TV and a guy who's graduated from law school and passed the bar.
