donnamaybe
My baby has to work on V day until 8:30, so I think I'll have a really nice meal ready for when he gets home. He's brought up twice that he has to work that day. I don't think he's really happy about not being able to make a real "date," but I don't care. As long as he's cuddling with me later on, that's all I need.

It's doing the dishes and lying on the couch for a dvd. It's getting all gussied up for a night out at a concert or theatre and still looking for the glances and losing yourself in moments. Have fun girl. My bf is a police officer. He's not working but I'm thinking one of us may end up wearing a uniform. It'll be worth a laugh if nothing else!
donnamaybe
Hey Doll, what is a real date? Being somewhere besides work or home, if even for just a meal. I'm seeing a seductive temptress in a belted cop uniform shirt, hat, no pants, and above the knee black leather high heeled boots standing over a helpless male prone on the bed with a silly grin on his face. I'm not spending it with MM, I'm spending it with my family and getting that great home cooking! Probably I will get some flowers delivered, and he wants to take me away for the long weekend after but I don't know if I can make it. Oh well!
Spark1111
>>> Stands up and does the clappy dance! Yay! You have made progress! No pity party for me either and I liked Spark's idea about an anti valentine party! I'm thankful that I'm not imprisoned by his lies anymore.:) The best time! Imagine all the women you love most in the world, together in their best silk pjs, robes, high heels, good wine, talking of what you want in a relationship, what you want in a man? So Much Fun!:p:p

Imagine all the women you love most in the world, together in their best silk pjs, robes, high heels, good wine, talking of what you want in a relationship, what you want in a man? So Much Fun!:p:p That is kind of what my night will be like! In the day, I go over to my mom's house, I hang out and have dinner and presents with family. At night, my single friends come over and we have a pajama party! Last year we drank a ton of champagne I had a real head the next day.
fooled once
My boyfriend is planning something. We're going out for dinner, but I don't know where. I'm making him heart shaped cookies and decorating them, and then we're gonna enjoy some wine and i'm gonna showcase the sexy new lingerie I got from La Senza. gooooooooooooooooood times. Don't think I'm getting flowers - because he surprised me with a beautiful bouquet 2 days ago  (I'll always appreciate 'just cuz' flowers over valentines flowers any day!) BOYFRIEND??? Details Tiger I'm going on a dinner date with a new single guy I met recently. I am so glad not to have to think about how xDM will screw me over this year. it will be the first time in many years I'll actually have a nice valentines! Have FUN BL! You deserve it!! ** I am NOT a roses person - they last maybe 3 days at best. Carnations on the other hand, last much longer! My FIL grows roses and has such a great assortment! I hope everyone has the day they want. For those in relationships, make sure you show love and appreciation for your person every day, not just Feb.
pureinheart
This post is appropriate for anyone here so no potshots in any direction please. For the sake of argument, lets assume that reformed OW might have plans with single men, current OW might have plans with their MM, wives whether betrayed or reconciled or former OW might have plans with their husbands, any other combination, and ANY of these women might have plans with friends or alone. But I have always loved Valentine's Day because it's cute and fun and a chance to be with the person you love, and I will take any excuse! We are going on a trip that includes a couples race for the weekend before and coming back Sunday. We will be taking the kids. He took the day itself off work so we get the full weekend and apparently my cousin agreed to babysit for a big date that evening that I cannot know any details about. He brought me a dress and shoes to wear a week ago that seems to imply it is formal but that's all I know. I hope it's not dancing. I hate dancing. But I should think he knows that! Will let y'all know! What are you doing this Valentine's day? Awesome Tina! I really hope you have a good time! I have several invites, so not sure
Heather1
I work in an all male environment, w/ 95% male customers, so I'm sure I'll get a few boxes of candy Bought myself some gold hoop earrings from xOM (I know, but it makes me feel better somehow buying things I wish he'd have thought of....& realize what a cheap F he can be). & probably take my boys to dinner? No big plans, but work will be fun cuz my customers are regulars.

OWoman
Having dinner at the restaurant our first date was at... That sounds good! Would love to do the same, but it would involve a 10 000 mile journey, which is a bit far for a single evening
fooled once
I hope all those with plans have a fantastic time. I hope all those that don't have plans end up doing something they enjoy. I hope all those who are in love will be spending the day/evening with the one they love. I have decided to cook for my H tomorrow  something I rarely do anymore, but because I adore him and want to show him how much he means to me, I am making his favorite dinner - homemade lasagna! Enjoy your day everyone!
LeaningIntoTheMuse
I don't have a girlfriend, so will be spending the time working on an assignment for school, and might crack out a movie and watch it. Nothing love related, though.
half_ofa_heart
Most likely I will spend the day being disappointed. I have a feeling I wont even get a card from my MM. I know he bought his wife a small sentiment because his toddler daughter was playing with it when I ran into them a few days ago. I got nothing last year despite the fact that I told him it is a very important day for me. It carries very special childhood memories and is more important to me than my Birthday. I hope I am wrong and pleasantly surprised but honestly... all I want is a card. I have never gotten a card from him. Not a gift, a movie, a lunch, a dinner or anything that normal boyfriends give. Geez, I sound pathetic!!! God I pray I am wrong! Please let him remember how important this is to me.
whichwayisup
Heart, here's a huge box a yummy chocolates for you from me. (sorry, one is missing from the box, I had to try one! ) Try not to expect anything from him. That way you won't be so crushed and disappointed.

I'm picturing the box with a little brown empty wrapper right smack in the middle. I am making chocolate cupcakes as I type and took myself to a movie by myself today. I may just buy myself some flowers tomorrow as well. My kids always make me feel special on this day so I always have that to look forward to. I try not to expect more than what I ask for - a card isn't too much to ask... unless he's afraid of it fallling into the wrong hands. Still not a good enough excuse for me. I want a card!!! $3 tops! Not asking for a lot!

OWoman
So, the day started with my H waking me gently with honeybush tea, a card and a gift, and some hot loving. He heated the towels and when I got out of the shower, I found little love notes scattered all around the house, telling me how much he loved me, and listing things he valued about me. While he was outside, I made breakfast - decorating his plate with hearts - featuring figs, honey and other romantic foodstuffs. After breakfast we scampered up the stairs for more passion, and then tidied up and got down to some work, which is where we are now. This evening remains in prospect... I don't know why I was under the impression from all your previous postings that you and your husband would not recognize Valentine's day as a real holiday to celebrate.I just did not see it as a holiday you would embrace. It seems contradictory to your beliefs as a whole. What a wonderful day you have had so far. Everyday is valentine's day in my home but on Valentine's day it is just a little more special. donnamaybe
As I mentioned before, my sweetheart has to work until 8:30. He usually comes home and has something to eat then stays up for awhile. Since we live in a cold climate this time of the year I decided to bring a little summer into dinner tonight. I'm making barbecued chicken, homemade potato salad, and some melons. He LOVES my barbecued chicken! I make my own sauce and all and I cook it slow on the smoker. Yummy stuff! I'm also getting him some butter toffee (his absolute favorite) from a chocolatier in the area and a nice card. Then we'll wear off dinner!
OWoman
We're both working from home today, which is as well as the doorbell has not stopped ringing. The house is now awash in the reddest roses, their scent thick in the air. The recycling bin is overflowing with wrapping paper and discarded packaging from all the gifts that keep arriving, and every surface is covered in cards.
