worlybear
I find that yet again I am caught in a difficult work situation. I am currently teaching at a church primary school for 2 terms. Yesterday I had a massive run in with the Headteacher. He complained about my timekeeping and said I was always late-( not true as I always make sure I'm on time) and that I leave school too early. I do stay twice a week to take a club and attend staff meetings but have to pick up my 9 yr old daughter on the other days.I NEVER leave until I'm sure that all the children have been picked up. I tried to explain but he shouted me down and then launched into a vitriolic and personal attack, accusing me of "coasting" and not gelling with staff and parents and that the staff found me negative. He was hostile, nasty and detrimental. I am absolutely gutted. I spoke to staff after the meeting and they were horrified. They had no issues with me and all said that they too, had been subjected to this type of haranguing by the Head in the past. They are afraid of him. So what do I do? I have written a letter to chair of govs and spoken to my union who have advised me to log anything that happens over the next few days.(and then send it.) I have spoken to my local vicar (its a church school) who is going to quietly contact the schooll's diocese on my behalf. But....quite frankly I DON'T NEED THIS. Been there, done that, got the t shirt. Why do I end up working in church schools run by meglomaniacs- is it me?
