audrey_1
I have this male friend that I hike, drink coffee and smoke cigars with. I don't go online in Facebook much, but every time I do, it seems he's online or asleep in chat. He always disappears, it seems, when he realizes that I'm there, sometimes within seconds. Every single time he disappears. I question why I even notice. But I'm trying not to take it personally.
january2011
To be honest, without any additional information, I wouldn't read too much into it. You'll most likely wind yourself up over-analysing incidents like that.
Author audrey_1
I know. I don't like to wind myself up. Just happens...every time. Maybe he doesn't want me to know that he's online, not really that he's avoiding me personally.
green_tea
I really doubt he is going offline when he sees you. I think it must be some technical glitch. I never go online anymore, but when I used to I am sure I noticed this with people as well. I have a feeling it could have something to do with being online on your phone, but not positive. If he is fine with you in person then I wouldn't worry about it
mariakiriaust
I think you should ask him or send him some message and make some specification in order to continue your unmatched and silent relation
Faded_x
It's probably just a coincidence. Facebook allows you to create groups, so you can appear online to some and offline to others. I'd imagine if he was really trying to avoid you, he wouldn't even be seen online at all. From what you've said, I don't think that's anything to worry about. When you try contacting him in any way (either by facebook, phone, email, etc) does he always reply? If you doesn't ignore you, I wouldn't worry about it.
