Should I say anything else to him?

Recommended Posts

I told a guy I liked him, and that was 3 years ago. I know this is sad, but I still like him. When I told him, he had a girlfriend I didn't know about, so obviously nothing happened.

I also knew indirectly about his breakup 1 year after that. But I never approached the question again, nor did I give any signs I still wanted him. He was always nice to me, before and after his breakup, always interested in what I said, and all that. I'm sure he enjoys being with me as a person. But I still want to try to be his girlfriend. One year ago he graduated, and shortly after that he was forced to move to another city because of his work. I learned form a mutual friend that he still has no one, and my friend urged me to call him. I did, and he sounded quite happy to hear form me, and he wants to keep in contact. Of course our conversation was just as friends. But I would like to tell him I like him because I still feel he could be 'the one'. How should I tell him? Please advise me....

Well, him living in another town might be a problem for him...and for you, unless the town is VERY close by.

You need to talk to him in person. But don't just lay everything out for him, set things up so the two of you can see each other more often as friends. Invite him to accompany you to parties, concerts, plays, movies, whatever you like to do. Don't ask him too often, but just enough so that he can get to know you better.

If he accepts your invitations, great. If not, forget him.

You don't need to spin your wheels with a guy who won't ask you out or show any interest beyond a friend. My gosh, it's been three years and things haven't gone anywhere between the two of you.

As a last resort, since you would have nothing at all to lose, just tell him you'd like to see him more often and get to know him better. Let him know that if he has an interest as well, you'd like to upgrade the friendship. You have to do that and see what happens. Either things will go your way from there...or you will be free to get on with your life and find another Mr. Right.
