Is this weird? Can anyone relate??

Recommended Posts

This may sound very very very silly but looking to see if anyone else does the same.

i think we all have our guilty pleasures in a sense or things we sort of get hooked on at the moment..i am in my mid twenties and female and also took a break from dating; also trying to work out more and concentrate on losing a little weight (i am not heavy but i could lose a few lbs)..with that being said i haven't been spending my weekends going out--i am avoiding dinner out bc i am not good with will power at times and also i don't want to drink alcohol right now either..i am sort of more content with my weekends going by slow--going to the gym, relaxing etc

I get into my "fixes" and "moods"..like for example rocky is one of my favorite movies..sometimes i will get in my rocky fix and like to watch certain parts from each of the movies or watch the trailers..i just enjoy it and it inspires me

Another guilty pleasure of mine is I always enjoyed the angst of couples on
getting together..i actually started getting into the show gilmore girls--they are running reruns and i had never watched the show when it first aired. I enjoy the characters of rory and jess..how she is the innocent girl falling for the bad guy and they both seem to have a crush on each other..i just love stories like that and seeing how they finally get together.

There are tons of youtube videos with these two characters with clips and music in the background--i enjoy watching them and it is almost like i am living in a fantasy bc i would love a story like that to happen with me even though i know it's not likely in real life..it kind of even pushes me to work out b/c i want to better myself for me but also for the possibility of meeting someone. But i just enjoy watching those videos..i could stay
at night and be perfectly content watching them or reading even fan fiction stories rather than being at a bar.

Is this normal? It is definitely not something I even admit to anyone really; it is just for myself..i honestly don't think any of my other friends or people i know are doing this at night, sometimes for an hour or more..
so
sometimes i wonder maybe there is something emotionally wrong with me or something i'
m
not sure.

I notice it comes and goes..i will be into it for awhile and then it will fade and then i will get back into it again. Just wondering if anyone else is out there that can relate to me.

Thanks Much!

I am the same way with love songs and romantic comedies. Although I recognize that real life doesn't play out that way, I still tend to enjoy it.

Rose, I have a guilty confession to make too: I've downloaded and watched the whole of Dawson's Creek! And I'm currently going through Australian teen drama series, Heartbreak High.

But I'm still managing to balance doing this with socialising (which sometimes I have to force myself to do, since it can too comfortable being indoors - my natural habitat!) and other extra curricular activities that don't involve dating or men in any way.

As Carrie in SATC calls it: "Secret Single Behaviour"!

I love watching romances unfold too - but I admire the fact that it has actually spurred you to take care of yourself physically: I wish I shared the same motivation!
