R.I.P. Rudy :-(

Disillusioned

Rudy was a truck driver for 53 years until he retired. He just turned 90 three weeks ago, then had a heart attack and died yesterday, on Saturday the 26th. Looks like my buddy John and I will be the only ones attending Rudy's funeral.

No one is sure what will happen to Rudy's house and all his things. He had no family we know of, even though he lived in the neighborhood longer than anyone else. He arrived from Milan, Italy, sometime in the late 1920s as a boy when his parents fled from Mussolini.

Practically up until the day he died, Rudy never gave up hope that the love of his life would find him someday when he'd least expect it. It never happened. She never loved him, now she never will.

I'm sorry for your loss. :(

Have you considered posting an advert in an appropriate place, to see if Rudy's love will come forward?

As an aside, this reminds me of the plot to the Chinese film, Rouge. They did meet again though it didn't end well, unfortunately.

Sorry to read about the loss of your friend. It's sad that things didn't work out for him with the love of his life.

I don't think the previous poster meant to insensitive, I think she just meant maybe this woman could be told (if you knew her whereabouts) about Rudy's passing, because maybe Rudy did mean something to her and maybe she would want to know :)

Hugs and best wishes to you, and may Rudy rest in peace.
