Lately, since the loss of my cat,I've been feeling afraid to sleep. The reason is,I keep having these dreams that my cat is alive, then I wake up and its not true.Thats the reason Im afraid to sleep.I dont know if this is normal after a loss of a pet.I just feel afraid to go to sleep, thats why Im up late.I dont know why Im feeling like this. Its just hard.

Can you enjoy your dreams with your cat? I know you're sad when you wake up, but isn't having Spooky in your dreams a little bit like having him with you again?

Maybe you should talk to your doctor about this Patty. Maybe he could give you something to help you to get a good night's sleep while you are worried about the loss of your cat. It's not healthy to not get enough sleep.

Yes,I can enjoy it,but its scary when I wake up.Yes,maybe he is sending mesages to me.But I just get scared when I wake up cause, then I feel this loneliness. Then I start mourning again.

I did try to keep myself busy today, there were moments when I did break down. This is always a hard thing.

Yes it is fairly normal, its your mind handling the loss.

I never thought of it that way,but that sounds very true.

I'll try to think of peaceful thoughts like Ryan cuddling with me! That should help right?

Thanks everyone.

Speaking of that Patty, why did you change your avatar? It's not that I don't like looking at you, but I was kind of getting used to ole Ryan. :)

I think it's normal to have a hard time sleeping right after the loss of a loved one. It will take some time to get over it and I'm sure you'll go back to being able to sleep like you used to. Hang in there.
