Disillusioned
First, I'm not kidding. My buddy may not need a sex fix, but he says he'd like something that looks like a reasonably attractive woman which can be dressed up and made cuddly. He has been through so many bad experiences with women that he says he longer wants a real one. This is SoCal: women in this part of the world have zero kindness. He's been married once and says never again. I know my buddy can't spring for a Realdoll like what I bought, and as I found out the hard way, they aren't really designed for platonic relationships anyway. But since I have plenty of experience with fiberglass and resin, I told him that if the plastic is the right kind, I can mod a mannequin to have poseable arms and legs so he can dress her up fancy and sit her in a chair or whatever. Plus I know how to make heating elements out of Nichrome wire to fit inside his mannequin so he can plug it in and it will stay warm. Kind thoughts?
Cee
A mannequin isn't the answer. If your friend has completely given up on dating, then it's time to get a dog or cat. If he insists of female-like companionship, he can make platonic women friends. What helped me survive a near 7-year relationship drought was having lots of friends, male and female. Companionship with living beings is crucial to emotional health.
TouchedByViolet
I agree with Cee. Imitation life/intimacy is emotionally unhealthy. Getting a dog, cat or other pet and companion will be better for you.

Mrlonelyone
Ill admit to resorting to a blowup doll after a breakup. I was just tired of women and all the arbitrary bull **** and nonsense that can come with them. Tired of it. So I got my woman fix from a doll for a while. Try not to judge it ladies...you all have you vibrators too.
Citizen Erased
Uh how about he moves if the women are so awful there and he's that desperate...

I don't know about the rest of the ladies on here, but I don't dress my vibrator up and put it on a chair to play make believe relationship, nor cuddle with it at night. There's a difference between getting your jollies off as you've described, and getting comfort from an inanimate object as the OP's friend appears to be in need of.
sally4sara
If you only knew how unloving SoCal women are, you'd understand. Or apparently how much SoCal men need to control women to the point of resorting to dress up marionette dolls.
Author Disillusioned
Or apparently how much SoCal men need to control women to the point of resorting to dress up marionette dolls. The only thing that needs control in this situation is L.A. women's materialism. It has essentially made them unloveable and certainly unmarriageable, but my friend learned that lesson too late. paleblue
i always thought it would be funny to put one in my vehicles passengers seat or strap one to the back of my motorcycle. seriously, ive never been to south california, so all i can do is believe you that women there are unreasonably materialistic. even so, i probably would not go that route. i would probably start visiting the womens prison or volunteer my time to the institute for the blind. sally4sara
Do you know how unlikely it is that a region's entire female population would be without any redeemable quality while all the men are super swell folks? Chicken egg? Who knows?
carhill
Vintage full body mannequins can be a valuable investment, in more ways than one. I recall one SoCal friend (my exW grew up there) who used one on the daily commute, in a way only a SoCal resident would appreciate
Linda9999
Your friend should move to Canada. We are much more loving up here
