laRubiaBonita
yesterday i quit smoking!!! :bunny: i am on the patch- and this thing is the bomb! i feel loopy and chatty.... like i am drunk and high! they should use me to market it! the oral () cravings are the hardest so far; what i have been doing in using raw sugar snap peas and "smoking" those. i did have a puff off a friends smoke today- just one- but it freaked me out since i am already getting nicotine through the patch. i had funky dreams last night- most everyone was wearing sequins, some dude felt me up, and i had an awesome house.... so really not too bad- but i didn't sleep well. i have gotten a small quick fading headache, here and there, and sometimes my stomach hurts..... but on the whole- i am feeling good and very positive about the change. another change will soon follow- that would be curtailing my drinking, but i didn't want to kill myself with nixing all at once. i think since i am feeling good, the other will soon follow suit! yay me (even if it is early)! i am and will do this- i have to. threebyfate
Nice!! Keep thinking about how smoking is so unhealthy, expensive and disgusting. You can do it!!
tinktronik
I quit using the patch too. The dreams get weirder the longer you wear it and tend to get more nightmarish rather than just bizarre. Remember that you do not have to wear the patch at night as your body typically receives no nicotine during sleep anyway. You can simply put your patch on first thing in the a.m. and take it off at bedtime. This will avert most of the sleep effects. And most of all good luck.

zebracolors
Grats Rubia! That is quite a hurdle to get over and I hope that you continue to be smoke free and can avoid temptations. It may well be very difficult road. Ive never been a smoker ever, but my mother did for nearly most of my life span in terms of years. Thankfully she quit I think about 17 years ago. Sadly she really almost had no choice because she developed high blood pressure and just started to have early heart problems. İt was difficult for her also, but she is still alive today and I feel like it gave her more years to enjoy life. Now I just wish with everything I am I could help my boyfriend stop smoking:(
LakesideDream
Congrats. You are over the hard part. I tried to quit using patches.. the dreams were cool, very entertaining. The patches didn't do much else for me. Substituting one addiction for another seemed pointless. If you think you are at a point where you can go it alone, invite someone over for a movie and try it. Smoking is the toughest addiction to break, you are on your way.
PollyIvy
Me too! Today is day #3 for me without cigarettes. I am so tired of coughing all the time. I quit before for 10 years, and then started up again with all this stress and tension in my marriage. I am not sure if this is the real quitting now, or a precursor, but it feels good. I hate smelling like smoke when I hug my children. Good luck - how are you doing?
