konfuzd
I had posted about my situation before, in summary: bf was living an hour away from me with a roomie I didn't get along with. Bf's place was closer to my work than mine, so I was spending a lot of time there. I told bf I wanted to be married or at least engaged before moving in together. Bf wanted to wait until he was done school and working before proposing. In the end, I compromised, and decided we could live together prior to engagement as the living situation was causing me undue stress, I needed to move to be closer to work & both bf and I wanted away from his roomie. We ended up buying a place together we took posession of on Jan 1. On Feb 3, he proposed! I, of course said "yes" and we are getting married next summer! I know this may not work for everyone, but there were a few posts recently about how living together will not make the engagement come faster, so I wanted to share with you my success story! Duckduckgoose
Gratz! Have you picked out your dress, venue, guest list, etc? There is a girl planning a wedding in my Sunday School class and from what she has been reporting there is a LOT of stuff involved with planning one without hiring a wedding planner. Lauriebell82
Wow, congrats! That's wonderful!!!! :bunny: Maybe your fiance wanted to make sure that you ACTUALLY wanted to be with him and not just obsessed with being married to anyone! You proved that you did by moving in with him!
Author konfuzd
Thanks! I think for him it was more about compromise. We had both made a stand on an issue, and can both be very stubborn. When he saw that I was willing to compromise my ideals to be with him, he was willing to meet me in the middle. I couldn't be more excited to marry a man who is strong willed, but knows when to bend as well. (nevermind the fact that he picked out a phenominal ring! )
