shawn923
Just wondering... my type of music is top 40. so for example, Cry Me A River by justin timberlake or Deuces by Chris Brown are songs that make me feel good about the breakup... Keep in mind I was dumped hard and want to listen to something to lighten my days
mr.goodguy
Music, post breakup, is a tricky thing. Practically every song in one way or another talks about love. I can't recommend anything unfortunately but suggest changing your mentality. Remind yourself it is her loss. You are better without her. There are millions of women out there to choose from, she is not the greatest of them. Always see the positive in a situation, learn from what went wrong, and ALSO have a good time. This type of thinking has helped me. The more you do of it, the easier it is to get over the old and look for the new.

Steadfast
I didn't like this band growing up, but heard it the other day and found the lyrics inspiring. Old school for sure, but good- Reo Speedwagon 'Keep Pushin' Sample: "Well it's coming together I finally feel like a man Oh, yes I do I never thought that I'd be where I am..." lemonlegs
Moving On - Taio Cruz (Just what it sounds like, about a guy who can't wait to move on, and not wanting to be friends) One Day at a Time - Enrique Iglesias feat. Akon (About a guy who is still upset about a break up, but acknowledges that you can only take it one day at a time, and eventually, it'll be better) Up, Up and Away - Kid CuDi (Not about break ups specifically, but it's a good 'cheer up' song and reminds you to not care about what others think and to be HAPPY It's actually about getting baked when you wake up, but same difference, right? Ridin' Solo - Jason Derulo (Someone else mentioned it, but it's an awesome break up song, makes you feel awesome) What The Hell - Avril Lavigne (Okay, this one's a bit girly, but it reminds you how awesome being single can be!) We're Done - Lil Wayne (It's a remix of his song 'Comfortable' and some Disney star... Demi Lovato, I think, not sure which song though.) Fading - Rihanna (Again, girly, I know. Good song though. This is coming more from the dumper's perspective, but still...) Call It Off - Tegan and Sara (I think this is also about from the dumper's perspective, but it applies...) There's lots! NoEnd_Mary
Buy Eminem's latest album - Recovery. He talks all about break ups and sings from the heart. I wasn't a fan until I listened to his material and wow you can feel the emotion and the hurt he went through. When it comes to music, don't listen to anything sad or sappy. I try to only listen to strong fast music that will keep me pumped. Another one I recc' to distract you is Chemical Brothers.
snug.bunny
I like "Love Remains The Same" by Gavin Rossdale. It's about LOVE in general ----> life is fleeting, people move on but you can still have love within you as it is constant within a world that is always changing.
Ttrent
postal service - nothing better it's about a girl who broke up and a guy trying to pour his heart out, he's pitying himself. The guy says all the things we're all probably thinking, then the girl starts singing and explaining how she gave it a fair chance, it wouldn't work if they got back together, he needs to let it go and heal. I can't listen to it all the time, but after getting dumped and moping it helped me.
