Stuck in a severe rut... feeling moody for no reason?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm having some issues and ANY advice or insight would be extremely appreciated.

I'll give you some background into my life as it is right now: I'm 19 years old and am in my second year of University, which has proven to be slightly stressful, but deep down I feel like I'm just blaming my moodiness on the stress of school. I have a boyfriend who I love a lot, but again, I've been been inexplicably moody with him as well. I live at home with my parents which usually isn't bad but I do get extremely frustrated and have a huge blowout with them sometimes. As for friends, with the past year, I've had a couple falling outs which has made me feel a bit bad, but it's not the point where I don't talk to them at all. And I do see my friends as well, at least once a week, and I have nights where I'll go the bar so it's not like I NEVER hangout with friends... I don't think that's the issue.

Anyways, all's I feel like I do is go to school, do homework, hangout wiht my boyfriend, and work. And as I said, I love my boyfriend a lot. Yesterday for example, we got into an argument and he finally asked me "Do you still feel the same about me and our relationship? Because I feel like you've been acting different for the past month or so." And I can't deny it because I know I have been, but I just don't know why. I genuinely love him and wnt to be with him because he's amazing, so why am I acting like this?

I rarely ever feel like I'm in a good mood anymore, I don't know if it's becuase of the crappy weather or maybe it really is school, but I just want to change it.

Honestly, any help would be awesome because this rut is really starting to bring me down and effect my relationships... which in turn, makes me feel even more like crap.

Thanks

Oh, and I'll add that I've never experienced any sort of depression.. I've had bouts like this before but usually it's been because of a breakup or a fight with a friend. Everything SHOULD be fine right now, but it's not....

You sound like you could do with something to look forward to in order to change your routine around a bit to me.

Nothing more aside from maybe to watch and see if the moodiness is related to your periods?

Yeah, try and plan treats into your week to shake things up a bit. Maybe even start planning a trip to include friends or something for the summer? Plan some sort of trip for a weekend away too.

Sometimes life can just get a bit bland. That's what I was feeling from your post. Be careful you don't push those who love you too far away though..

Take care,

Eve x
