TheLoneSock
There have been a few religious threads floating around of late. I just wanted to share something that might give people some insight. Who knows how much good it will do for either side of the debate, but if you have an hour, or 45 minutes even, you could gain something from listening. It isn't an attempt to force something upon anyone, nor is it a backhanded way of saying one camp is right while the other is wrong. It's only an attempt to create additional understanding where there may possibly be a void for it. Either way, whether you are a believer or an Atheist, it will depend on your ability to read between the lines. Enjoy, and props to you if you can get through the whole thing. Author TheLoneSock
I will take a look. Always looking to be enlightened.... Well done if you made it through the whole hour! Mars Hill Church? It's religious after that title? Yes indeed
Feelin Frisky
The thread title drew me in but that guy blew it right away.
Author TheLoneSock
The thread title drew me in but that guy blew it right away. Fascinating. Of course that's the case
taiko
Mars Hill Church? It's religious after that title? Pastor Mark Driscoll raised Catholic and now a major Calvinist. "Religious" has a separate meaning then "belief" or "faith" to him.
Lovelybird
In Biblical sense, Jesus indeed opposed Pharisee style of religion. That is for sure.
threebyfate
Is there a transcript of this? It's a lot easier to quickly skim than have to listen to someone talking about religion for close to an hour.
Author TheLoneSock
Is there a transcript of this? It's a lot easier to quickly skim than have to listen to someone talking about religion for close to an hour. Indeed there is, it is located in an icon just below the video screen titled "Transcript" (no condescension intended). I would provide a link but it is the same link because it simply opens in a drop down template for you to see. However I encourage you to at least listen to the audio version of it if you don't want to sit through the video version; otherwise I feel you may miss out on a lot of what he is communicating to you. It is also downloadable for free in many formats and can be found in the same area that you will find the transcript version just below the video.
threebyfate
Since the transcript's on the same site, I've decided against clicking on the link since I don't know the site at all. But thanks for the information.
Author TheLoneSock
Since the transcript's on the same site, I've decided against clicking on the link since I don't know the site at all. But thanks for the information. Oh ok, if that's your concern I can just paste it to you in a PM. I don't want to blow up the thread with a full transcript. Edit: Never mind, it's too big to fit in a PM, 4x the character allowance. Edited March 30, 2011 by TheLoneSock
