Mapleleaf
Polo cologne used to turn the women on....do women still like it?
quankanne
oh heavens, yes! that stuff is like pheromone in a bottle, for me. My husband refuses to wear it for fear of being attacked, LOL while there are some other scents out there I think are nice, none of them get my motor running like Polo (the one in the green bottle) ... denise_xo
I don't like any kind of artificial scent on men.
SleeplessRomantic
oh heavens, yes! that stuff is like pheromone in a bottle, for me. My husband refuses to wear it for fear of being attacked, LOL while there are some other scents out there I think are nice, none of them get my motor running like Polo (the one in the green bottle) ... That's nice to know. For my birthday I received some Polo: Blue. I've been wearing it for the last seven months and have received some compliments.
Ginger Beer
The green one is good then? How many men wear it though?
quankanne
well, I'm old school, green bottle was the only one out back then (at least from what i can recall) ... so boys ... you wanna come over and let me do a Polo-check just to make sure it's working?
IcyBabe
Oh definitely! Blue by Ralph Lauren (Polo, same difference) is almost orgasm in a bottle. I used to work in the men's department at Macy's and we had little cologne samples at the register and I would smell Blue all the time, my co-workers used to tease me that I should just buy a bottle and spray it on my pillow at night. There are definitely other good ones out there but Blue is hands down the best in my opinion.
Pyro
The green one is good then? How many men wear it though? I have the green bottle, but it is my least favorite out of my stash. I only bought it because of the free bag that came with it.
climbergirl
Green polo is the sh*t! They still sell it for a reason.

Ginger Beer
http://cheapsmells.com/viewProduct.php?id=123725 Is that the ''green'' one? http://cheapsmells.com/viewProduct.php?id=123705 And that the ''blue'' one? Or are you lot talking about something different?
quankanne
I don't recall numbers on the bottles, nor the "Big Pony" monniker, but I've posted a bottle as my avatar. Still, I seem to recall the green was darker, like a forest green, opaque bottle?

Cee
Wow, Polo cologne in the green bottle. That brings back memories. My very first boyfriend wore it and he had left an old bottle at my house (actually it was at my parents - I was a teenager). I used to sniff the bottle to think of him. To be honest, I don't think I could ever date a guy wearing Polo. It would bring me back to the days when I was a virgin and had a 10 pm curfew.
quankanne
LOL – that's a depressing thought, if that's the case, Cee ... my jerk ex used to wear it! However, I think the scent is much more memorable and is untainted by him
Ginger Beer
Ahh, I can see it in your avatar. Never saw that before? Is it an American-only thing?
Ginger Beer
I got looking through all the Christmas presents I never really opened and I found a thing of Hai Karate aftershave LMFAO!....... It even still has the self defense instruction manual with it. They did that for a marketing gimmick to show guys how to fend off woman who will be storming around you after you use Hai Karate LOL! This made me laugh.

welikeincrowds
Bro, how is someone supposed to just answer that **** like "Yes" or "No"? There's a lot more to choosing a scent than that. At least, for me there is, because I ****ing think about everything. First of all, your skin has a certain chemistry, and it differs from person to person. Stuff you spray on you mixes with the chemicals you already produce naturally, to create a new, compound smell. That's how perfume is designed to operate. In that way, it's kind of like hair color. The same hue of blond can look stunning on one girl and really out of place on another, just an an immediate level, because of their hair type and facial features and skin tone (and, if it's fake, how well it was applied). That's one reason why some scents smell like inexplicably off-putting (like ****) on one guy, and great on the next. Then there are certain scents that are more appropriate for certain times of year, and even times of day. It's just like the sun has different light spectrums in the different seasons, so that color takes on a different character. I guess you could say we are hard-wired to respond to certain smells differently at different times. Maybe lighter, sweeter smells in the spring, and heavier, drier smells in the fall? Something like that. If you can't figure it out, it helps to look at the ingredients in the scent and try to place them on the almanac. Also, your nose is more sensitive in the warmer months, and less sensitive in the morning. Smell has a strong connection to memory. Scent is weird, actually. On the one hand, we're more likely to experience scent just "as is," as a sensation. The farthest most people go when talking about scent is "That smells good" or "Ew that's disgusting." On the other hand, smell is never an independent thing; it's always by association, because things make smells. All scents are tied to an idea. That's why if you want to say more than "It smells good," you have to explain what it smells like, or what it reminds you of. Usually, because the association with memory is so powerful, a unique smell can take you back to a specific moment, too, when you smelled that thing a lot, or for the first time. So, if you smell like lavender, that might associate you with gentleness, or being carefree, or hand soap, or her grandmother, or her grandmother's funeral. And if you're going to wear Polo, there's a good chance you're going to be reminding her of one of her douchebag exes. As you can see by this very thread, in fact. And it's not just, like, saying his name. You smell like him. It's worse than if he walked in the room. It will forcefully recall a memory of him in her mind -- mind you, probably at a moment where she was close enough to his body to smell him. Which, if you're wearing polo, could be at a few yards away -- but you know, it's probably during an intimate moment. It's certainly at a moment where she was drinking him in entirely, his glance, his smile, his scent. This is a memory seared into her brain that you'll be poking at unwittingly, and eventually it's going to **** you in the ass if you're going to mess around around all willy-nilly with the power of scents and no awareness, like taking out your dad's Winchester for some fun on a bender. Anyway, scents are really awesome and fun and I encourage you to experiment with different ones. There's a whole world out there of really pleasant things to smell and smell like. quankanne
if you're going to wear Polo, there's a good chance you're going to be reminding her of one of her douchebag exes. not necessarily so – I respond to the scent on a much more visceral level than I ever responded to the DBX ... with or without his wearing stuff. Hell, I had to corral myself whenever one of our priests wore the stuff to the office because it smelled so dang good. And believe me, I didn't think of DBX one single second!
