Popondetta
Well, the title of the thread says it all; Just wondering if anyone has tried hypnosis to cope with heartbreak? I'm really sick of feeling down, depressed, anxious and constantly obsessing about my ex. I feel like I need some help to get through this. I knwo I should try cognitive therapy but where I live this is way too expensive and the waiting list for a public one is so long. Hypnosis is probably expensive too, but I'd be willing to give it a go. Hope someone replies to this thread and tells me they got help from hypnosis.
Taramere
Not for heartbreak, no. I tried it for public speaking nerves though, and it was very helpful. Worth a try maybe? The only thing is that while it's easy to know if it's been effective with something like public speaking (ie when I had to speak after the hypnosis, I was only a little nervous whereas before I used to be physically sick with nerves), it's probably really difficult to gauge its helpfulness with regard to a break up. Also, for hypnosis to be effective you have to be really open to it being effective. To want it to work. Sometimes a little place in a person can be holding out for the ex to return, and they want to keep the love flame alive just in case that happens. You have to extinguish that hope before you can really move on...and if you're not ready to lose that hope yet, hypnosis probably couldn't help you. Still worth a try though - especially if you're feeling really crappy.
ccfan
I did try one of those online "get over you ex" things... i don´t know... i didn´t notice any significant change... maybe if properly done with a doctor it would work, maybe ... i know that if hypnosis would 100% guarantee that i will forget about my ex i´d pay every single dollar i have to get it done... No_hope
Here read this, then do it! http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t271851/ trust me. I got over my ex-fiance who I have kids with, in 3 months. Honestly, it should of taken a lot longer, but in those 3 months I was I wreck (which is why I got to this site). I felt like I was dying, that my happiness was taken away from me. And then a flip switched (slowly). So read it, then do it.

I see your point Taramere....M problem I guess is that I still have hope and that I cannot fully realize that it's over. I've booked an appointment with a professional hypnosis therapeut this firstcomeing tuesday, and I will let you know if it doesn anything to help. I'll gladly pay 100 euros any day to get rid of my constant pining, longing, wishful thinking.
