DreamerGirl27
so I just reconnected with an old friend and he said that a lot of his "Christian" goody goody friends cut him off because he did things like drank and smoked and had sex and they didn't like that. Well, I still have a lot of "Christian" friends from that same church and from my flippin' "home schooled" background (which I hate, by the way) and a lot of them have been getting on my case, for swearing, on MY facebook wall. I mean seriously? I drink very rarely...I don't smoke and I certainly don't have casual sex, and they're getting on my case just for saying bad words? On my own wall... Seriously? SERIOUSLY? Wth is wrong with "christians"?
Buddha
Wth is wrong with "christians"? To borrow a phrase from the bible and add my own little twist, if we were to write down everything that was wrong with Christians, the world itself could not contain the books. That said, it's nothing to do with being Christian. Hypocrites are everywhere, in all religions and in none. People often point out the tiny faults of others while they remain blind to and/or delusional about the quite serious mental disturbances of their own. At the very least, take command of your own FB page and rethink your friends if they're a problem.
Author DreamerGirl27
I'm 26 friggin' years old to boot, and these friends are about a year younger than me. It's one thing if I were 13/14ish and swearing up a storm on my wall and friends were finding something wrong with it, but I'm an adult for son of a flying monkey's sake! BeginAgain
By Christians you obviously mean Protestants. What denomination are we talking about here? The less established a denomination or sect is and the more times it broke off from the source the nuttier it gets. That's why Christian cults which many times spring out of Protestant denominations are the craziest. It takes millennia for a religion to become normalized and the rough edges to be smoothed away. The paradox is the more fundamental a long established religion tries to stay the more insane it gets.
2sunny
they are judging... aren't their "Christian values" against that? who needs judgment? tell them to stop the criticism. speak your truth. unfriend them... problem solved.
interfuse
I don't really have a problem with Christians unless they're like the people you stated above. I used to have a friend who is Christian and she couldn't stand any cuss word. And of course you got the hardcore Christians that border on being rude to people who aren't Christians such as this one guy I knew told his best friend's brother that he's going to hell because he's gay. You don't say that kind of stuff to people. Not only is that rude, but it's hurtful.

Yamaha
They are not Christians if they don't forgive. Case closed. I am a christian and quoted for truth. No one is "pure" and to imply you are is being a liar. God forgives and we must do the same.
worlybear
they are judging... aren't their "Christian values" against that? who needs judgment? tell them to stop the criticism. speak your truth. Yes . Get rid of them. As a teacher working for a headteacher who is allegedly christian I am struggling to understand his pomposity, cruelty and bullying of staff and OTT indoctrination of kids. Sadly he is not the 1st so-called christian like this, that I have had dealings with in my job. The staff are too afraid to say anything and I learned my lesson in a previous church school, the hard way. Some christians are so rigid , narrow-minded and hypocritical they probably think empathy and compassion are shower gels. Ditch them. There are better, more worthwhile, genuine people out there! betterdeal
I find the "God will be my judge" response tends to get the interfering arses to shut up
Author DreamerGirl27
I have no problem with Christians, and I am one myself, but I do have a problem when one of them feels a need to "condemn" me or tell me how and what to say on my own profile. It's like, really? "Take the plank out of your own eye before trying to remove it from someone else's" I'd quote that from the bible, but I don't know what quote it is. Tayla
Yes you are "entitled" to express yourself as you wish. By the same token friends are "entitled" to express their disappointment in certain behavior and mannerisms. ITs called being confronted and addressed respectfully. Doesn't sound like your friends did so in the respectful way . Not a fan of sailor talk on public forums or in public in general. Christian or not we each have styles of expressing....
